Being smoothie fanatics and a patron of the Smoothie valley, we went to their outlet in Janpath. We love their products as they are fresh and prepared with finesse and utter hygiene and hence havs made us their regular customers. A weekly visit to this café is a must for us. However lately things have not been so good, in any aspect! Be it payment mechanism, or the quality of food or rather quantity of food. Though the quality of smoothie remains intact and fresh, the other variants served have changed drastically.
We have been regularly visiting the café as usual when one fine day the items served were not up to the mark. We, feeling it to be a one-time thing, ignored it. Similar incident happened again but we again did not give any heed. Recently we went for a casual evening and yet again faced issues with respect to the food. We had French fries, pancakes and all berry smoothie along with citrus punch drink. The smoothie and citrus drink were lovely and had the exact taste we were looking for. Somehow, the food was again messed up. The pancake was quite stiff and was not at all fluffy, like it used to be. It was crispy on the edges and seemed as if it was cooked before and was just reheated, though it might not have been the case but it seemed so! The major reason that kind of ruined our evening was the French fries. We did not say anything to the attendant but it felt as if the left overs was served to us. Not even a handful of fries were served to us. We did not create an issue out of this but when we went for the payment, we were again stuck at the counter for around 20mins for the payment. We had taken an open voucher from an app which the staff denied at first but later on agreed. Then for the remaining balance were wanted to pay through the same app but again, there was some issue. Though we were finally able to make the payment but the mood was ruined by the time we left the place.
All in all, despite this place being our favourite, the last few visits have marked a dent on the image. The staff is though cordial but if the experience is not worthy, it becomes difficult to make a visit again! Again, this was not a complaint nor are we saying that it is a regular affair, but our experience has not been that good. Request the management to look into this.
Looking forward to a better...
Read moreI recently stopped by Cottage Café by La Polo in Delhi, and it turned out to be one of the most relaxing café experiences I’ve had in a while. The moment you walk in, the space feels warm and inviting rustic wooden accents, cosy seating, and just the right amount of charm to make you want to linger. It’s the kind of place that makes you forget you’re in the middle of Delhi’s hustle.
I ordered their Kahwa tea with honey, and it was absolutely perfect; soothing, aromatic, and lightly sweet in a way that felt comforting without being overpowering. Alongside that, I tried their signature potato fries, which were crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, and seasoned just right. Simple, but done so well that you can’t stop eating them.
The service really added to the experience. The staff were friendly, attentive, and seemed genuinely interested in making sure I was having a good time. They gave me space to enjoy my tea but were always nearby if I needed anything.
What I loved most is how well they’ve balanced quality food with a peaceful atmosphere. You can come here for a casual catch-up with friends, a quiet solo tea break, or even to get some work done, it works for all moods.
If you’re in Delhi and want a spot that combines great flavours with a cosy, unhurried vibe, Cottage Café by La Polo is definitely...
Read moreI always missed Bankura which was the Cottage Emporium Cafe years ago, before CE shifted to its present location from the barracks at Janpath. It was a meeting place for friends and the lady running it would churn out great delights for the palate. Yesterday I visited Cottage Emporium and was surprised to see the all new Cottage Cafe. Lunch time and hungry I decided to check it out. The interiors are just right - light, comfortably airy and service great. The menu covers all day breakfast, snacks, main courses, ciffee, tea, smoothies, shakes and mocktails. I chose a Mixed Berry smoothie and pasta. Both were really well presented and tasty. Larger portions than expected, so I had some of the pasta packed to take home for dinner!
The Cottage Cafe run by La Polo has friendly and polite staff who check on you and ask if there's anything you need.
All in all, I expect Cottage Cafe will pick up fast once people get to know about it, especially tourists who could evdn get a good breakfast here. And hopefully thus becomes a nice meeting place for us again
Just a comment: Most of the earlier revews here are of Smoothie Factory the predecessor of Cottage Cafe which is very new and as a restaurant...
