I recently had the pleasure of visiting a this charming tea cafe in Delhi, and I must say, it was an enchanting experience. Tucked away in a bustling neighborhood, this tea haven provided a much-needed respite from the chaos of the city. Here is my review of this delightful establishment.
Atmosphere: The moment I stepped into the tea cafe, I was greeted by a warm and inviting ambiance. The interior boasted a fusion of modern and traditional decor, with cozy seating arrangements and soft lighting creating an atmosphere of tranquility. The space was tastefully adorned with beautiful artwork and shelves lined with a vast variety of tea blends from around the world. It was evident that great attention had been paid to every detail, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and indulgence.
Tea Selection: As a tea enthusiast, I was thrilled to discover an extensive menu featuring an impressive array of teas. From classic black teas to aromatic herbal blends and rare specialty teas, this cafe had something to suit every palate. The staff was knowledgeable and passionate about their offerings, providing helpful recommendations based on individual preferences. Each tea was served with precision, ensuring the perfect brew every time.
Food and Snacks: To complement their exceptional tea selection, the cafe also offered a delectable assortment of snacks and light bites. I decided to try their freshly baked scones with clotted cream and jam, and they were simply divine. The menu also included sandwiches, pastries, and other sweet treats, all of which were beautifully presented and tasted as good as they looked. The combination of delicious food and exceptional tea made for a memorable culinary experience.
Service: The staff at this tea cafe truly went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant visit. They were attentive, friendly, and well-versed in the art of tea-making. They took the time to explain the characteristics of each tea and guided me through the menu with patience. I appreciated their genuine passion for tea and their willingness to share their knowledge. The service was prompt, and the staff made sure that every guest felt valued and well-cared for.
Price: While the prices at this tea cafe were slightly higher than average, the quality of the experience justified the cost. The carefully curated selection of teas, the attention to detail in presentation, and the overall ambiance made it worth every penny. It is a place where one can truly indulge in the art of tea-drinking and enjoy a moment of tranquility.
Overall, my visit to this tea cafe in Delhi was an absolute delight. It offered a haven of serenity amidst the chaos of the city, with a wide range of teas to suit all preferences. The combination of exceptional tea, delicious food, and impeccable service made for an unforgettable experience. Read moreCha Bar scores for me on access and ambience before we even get to the menu and service.
Access: 5 minutes from Barakhamba Metro or Rajiv Chowk by Metro and Uber easy
Ambience: Clean, warm and welcoming, it is delightful to wait there instead of on the street surrounded by sea of books to browse/ buy as you wait. A place for meeting friends and catching up. Not a business atmosphere - can't see myself having a work discussion here.
Servers: The team from Manipur add their touch and their singsong greetings are sweeter for the efforts to get each table the chairs its occupants require
Menu: one of the biggest collections of teas and a limited coffee menu that serves cappucinos, lattes, americano's as well as filter coffee. Spiced Cappuccino and Hakuna Matata ( a kenyan filter coffee) are much recommended
Eats: decent shwarmas. My spinach and feta quiche was nice but over salted. the oat and multigrain muffins were yum. Bluberry muffins were sugared low and just right.
Service: It being a small and crowded eatery..the waiters are always busy and on the run..so it gets a bit difficult to catch their attention..but once you do..and place your order..your order is served within a matter of few minutes..the service is efficient.and waiters are friendly..they dont hover over..they serve and disappear leaving you to your business.
Pricing: Very affordable and easy on the pocket. The coffees were Rs 110 each with
tax. food was also similarly so. It is great value for money
The place is packed, particularly during office lunch hours but moves quickly. We got a table in 10 minutes.
It's still a favourite spot to hang out. A shout-out to the staff- all polite and...
Read moreA very pretty, cozy little cafe situated inside the Oxford Book Store in N Block, Outer circle in Connaught Place. I love how the entire place looks. The only major gripe that I have are the high noise levels! The decibel levels shoot through the roof once the place starts to fill up with patrons. Otherwise, there's absolutely nothing to complain really, provided you find a spot to sit! During peak hours, there is generally a little waiting. You can easily kill time by taking a stroll through the Oxford book store, if you love books!
Coming to the food, I love their cold coffee, jalapeno cheese poppers (which, somehow are mostly not available), and also their bun-anda paav, vada paav, and variety of other things which are available. Also, the fact that the entire menu is decently pocket-friendly means you don't end up burning a hole inside your pocket or bank account while visiting Cha-bar. The staff is pretty courteous and deliver your order within, say, 10 odd minutes at max irrepective of the fact that this place is almost always full, except perhaps in the morning when it opens, which is around 11am (or 1100hrs.).
Overall, it is a really nice, pocket-friendly place to go catch some evening snacks post work or even generally to meet up friends, etc, Cha-bar works perfectly. I've been a regular here for a few months here and this place hasn't disappointed me. Just don't go there expecting an assortment of 'fine-dining' items and you should be fine. Take it more like a canteen sort of...
