Chaayos: A Haven for Tea Enthusiasts

Chaayos, a popular chain of tea cafes, has carved a niche for itself in India's bustling culinary landscape. With its unique blend of traditional Indian teas and contemporary flavors, Chaayos offers a refreshing take on the quintessential cup of chai. As a fervent tea enthusiast, my visit to Chaayos was nothing short of a delightful journey through the diverse and aromatic world of tea.

Upon stepping into Chaayos, I was immediately struck by its vibrant and inviting ambiance. The cozy yet modern decor, adorned with colorful teapots and rustic furniture, exuded warmth and comfort. The aroma of freshly brewed tea wafted through the air, awakening my senses and igniting my anticipation for what lay ahead.

The menu at Chaayos is a tea lover's paradise, boasting an impressive array of teas, each meticulously crafted to cater to diverse palates. From classic Indian chai to innovative fusion blends, there was something to tantalize every taste bud. After much deliberation, I decided to start with their signature Cutting Chai, a traditional concoction that promised to pack a punch of flavor.

As I took my first sip, I was immediately transported to the bustling streets of Mumbai, where the aroma of masala chai fills the air. The Cutting Chai at Chaayos was the perfect balance of robust spices and creamy milk, with a subtle hint of sweetness that lingered on my palate. It was a testament to the mastery of Chaayos' tea artisans, who skillfully blend age-old recipes with modern techniques to create a truly unforgettable experience.

Eager to explore more, I ventured into the realm of Chaayos' specialty teas, each more intriguing than the last. From the refreshing Aam Papad Chai, infused with the tangy flavors of raw mango and tamarind, to the indulgent Chocolate Chai, a decadent treat for chocolate lovers, Chaayos' innovative blends left me spellbound. Each sip was a revelation, as I discovered new layers of complexity and depth in every cup.

Aside from its stellar tea selection, Chaayos also offers a delectable assortment of snacks and treats to complement the tea-drinking experience. I couldn't resist indulging in their signature Bun Maska, a fluffy bun slathered with creamy butter and served with a steaming cup of chai. The combination of rich, buttery goodness with the bold flavors of the chai was nothing short of divine, leaving me craving for more.

What truly sets Chaayos apart is its commitment to customization, allowing patrons to tailor their tea exactly to their liking. From choosing the strength of the brew to selecting preferred spices and sweetness levels, Chaayos empowers customers to create their perfect cup of chai. This personalized approach not only enhances the tea-drinking experience but also fosters a sense of connection and ownership among patrons.

In addition to its exceptional teas and culinary offerings, Chaayos also prides itself on its commitment to sustainability and community engagement. The cafe's eco-friendly practices, such as using biodegradable packaging and sourcing ingredients from local farmers, underscore its dedication to environmental stewardship. Furthermore, Chaayos actively supports various social initiatives, from promoting tea cultivation in rural communities to empowering women through skill development programs.

In conclusion, my experience at Chaayos was nothing short of extraordinary. From its diverse tea selection and delectable snacks to its inviting ambiance and commitment to sustainability, Chaayos encapsulates the essence of Indian tea culture in a modern and accessible way. Whether you're a seasoned tea connoisseur or a casual enthusiast, Chaayos is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to embark on a flavorful journey through the...

Chaayos M Block – Connaught Place | Retro Vibes, Great Chai, But Cleanliness Needs Work

Visited this Chaayos outlet in M Block, Connaught Place on a busy Good Friday evening in April 2025. If you’re a regular Chaayos visitor, this particular outlet might offer a surprisingly different vibe—thanks to its unique layout and old-school CP architecture.

They’ve maintained the original Connaught Place charm, giving off a retro feel that fits well with the area’s colonial-era setting. The structure includes small and large partitioned seating sections, creating cozy zones without actual cabins. It feels somewhat tucked away from the usual CP chaos—something that regulars may appreciate.

Ambience & Layout:

Retro vibe thanks to the architecture of the M Block building.

Good mix of seating options—some more private, some open.

However, maintenance is clearly needed: peeling paint, damp patches, and an overall slightly worn-out look take away from what could be a more polished experience.

Cleanliness:

This remains the biggest area of concern.

Tables and floors weren’t clean upon arrival. The staff did clean them promptly—but only when asked.

Unlike the past, there is no dedicated housekeeping staff; the same person serving food wipes tables, often with a single cloth and no visible cleaning agent.

Hygiene standards seem to have dropped over the years.

On cleanliness alone, I’d give this outlet 2 out of 5.

Washroom:

Not super clean, not terrible either.

For a high-traffic area, it was usable, but don't expect spotless or premium-level facilities.

Staff & Service:

The staff was courteous, warm, and helpful, even during peak hours.

Clearly undermanned for a busy evening, but they still managed well.

They did request us to rate them—which might put some people off—but personally, I feel good effort deserves appreciation.

Crowd & Wait Time:

Being CP and a holiday evening, it was understandably crowded.

You may need to wait for a table during peak hours.

Final Verdict:

If you’re craving chai in CP with a bit of nostalgia and relaxed seating, this Chaayos outlet delivers on vibes and chai. The location is fantastic, and service is friendly—but the cleanliness and upkeep need serious improvement to match what Chaayos is known for.

Would I visit again? Yes—for the chai and ambiance. But I’d love to see the brand return to the higher hygiene standards they...

Chaayos

Chaayos, the name we all co-relate with good times over Chai. The New Monsoon Chaat menu launched at Chaayos is all about recreating our old memories related with Monsoon, Chai and some tangy Indian Chat. Be it all time famous Samosa, Bhel poori or Papdi Chaat, everything is back at Chaayos in a sensational makeover.

Chaayos have recently launched A New Chaat Menu that is ready to make this monsoon more tangy and enjoyable. The Chaat menu includes, our all time Favorites Palak Patta Crispies, Baarish Wale pakode, and Samosa Matar Chaat. Not just the old popular, but they also bring some Diet watcher chaats like Egg White Chaat, Bhel poori and Kale Channe ki Chaat. The twisted Chicken Keema Paapdi Chaat is my favorite amongst all and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Here is what I tried:

Bhel puri Chaat: The old time favorite till today, this was spicy and lemony. Loaded with veggies, this is yum. I liked it a lot.

Samosa Matra Chaat: The spiced Samosas hand broken down and drizzled with Warm matra, spices, onion tomato and imli chutney is a lip smacking Chaat.

Chicken Keema Paapdi Chaat: This is a winner for me. Delicious, innovative and so fresh. Never eaten before as Chaat, I relished this one.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Egg White Chaat: Diet watchers will love it. Spiced and yum Chaat that makes healthy food delish now. Must try!!

Paired them with famous Chaayos Cutting Chai, each bite of Chaat became more enjoyable.

Other cool Drinks we tried were Aam Panna, Mint Lemonade, Modi Shikanji. All of them were up to their name and taste.

We also had, their Famous Kulhad Pao Bhaaji and Chicken Parantha Pizza. Both of these dishes are extremely popular and favorite amongst crowd. So have you tried them yet, if not…..You should as Monsoons couldn't have been better without...

Been there once a long while ago before the Pandemic, and in between our impression of the place took a definite nosedive! It's now one of the worst managed eating joints in a prime location like the Connaught place, at the heart of the city, so to speak. First of all, in the humid weather that Delhi has been reeling under for the last 40 days, Chaayos thought of installing only one AC in the whole T-shaped structure of interior of the restaurant. Naturally, everyone, (without exception) was trying out 3-4 tables before they resign and accept whatever they can get. We did the same. Part of the indecision was also due to a complete absence of any coherent ecosystem of the place, not much thought seems to have been given to design of the furniture, nothing fits with anything else. Ok, now let's talk about the food. Although we had noticed that the food was served quickly but quality of the food was rather wanting. We ordred among other things crispy palak, which was cold and totally uncrispy. When I pointed this out to the guy took my order (Mr Singh), he said we don't have anything else in spinach apart from a sandwich. I gave up after trying for a while and realised that the fellow perhaps doesn't know that spinach and palak are the same things! All the items were overpriced and the decor, the ambience, the food, nothing works, in short, don't go there, they're probably thinking of folding up, having run out of whatever little idea they had.

A Disappointing Culinary Experience I recently visited Chaayos at M Block, Connaught Place, hoping for a relaxing spot to enjoy some snacks and tea. While the ambiance is fairly decent — cozy enough for working or spending some quiet time — the food and beverage experience left a lot to be desired. To begin with, the place feels highly overpriced for what it offers. We ordered a veg burger and a veg sandwich, both of which seemed stale and completely lacked flavor. The texture of the bread felt old, and there was nothing memorable about the fillings either. It was quite underwhelming for the price point. The real letdown was the much-hyped masala chai, priced at around ₹170. I expected something special, but honestly, it didn’t come close to a regular ₹20 roadside tea in terms of taste or aroma. It was watery, bland, and just disappointing overall. We also tried the mango smoothie, hoping for a refreshing drink, but it had an odd powdery texture and barely any real mango flavor — more like an artificial mix than a fresh smoothie. While the vibe of the café is passable — calm and comfortable enough if you’re looking to sit and work — it doesn’t compensate for the subpar food and steep prices. Overall, my experience was far from satisfactory, and I wouldn’t recommend it for the food. There’s definitely scope for improvement, especially in food quality and authenticity.
