Every once in a while you come across a place which is dreamy and seems straight out of wonderland. Well, informal by Imperfecto is one such place. It was on my bucket list for very long, and I finally had the chance to visit the place. And man, was I surprised!! A beautiful and heavenly place indeed. I'm extremely fascinated with fairy lights and beautiful lighting and ambience. And this place has it all. Moreover the ambience, the lighting, the space, the DJ, lively music, very cooperative waiter, swift service. Nothing to complain about actually! You want beautiful looking pictures and amazing food then this is the place to be.
So coming to food without further ado; I finally ordered after much contemplation and consideration #Chicken Malai Tikka, #Dahi kebab, #BBQ chicken pizza with peppers, #Oreo shake, and #Mango shake. The dishes and the beverages started coming pretty swiftly one after another. The presentation was fantastic, inspiring my appetite to even greater deal. The taste was equally good, really delicious. I won't say the best for any of them, since I have had better for every dish at different place. But still, they were all quite tasty. The chutney provided alongside really brought out the flavours.
Clicked a few pictures of the ambience and the lighting to my heart's content after the meal was done. A special mention; I enjoyed the music which had a very good mix of Hindi, English and Punjabi. Pricing is slightly on the expensive side but then so are all the dine out places in CP and Janpath.
THE GOOD: #DAHI KEBAB, #CHICKEN MALAI TIKKA DREAMY LA LA LAND THIS ONE IS BECAUSE OF ITS LIGHTING AND AMBIENCE WELL MAINTAINED, AND EXCELLENT SEATING OPTIONS FABULOUS MUSIC A PLACE FOR GREAT PICTURES FOR ALL YOU PICTURE FANATICS OUT THERE SWIFT SERVICE AND FRIENDLY STAFF
THE BAD: THE FOOD WAS QUITE GOOD BUT NOT AMONGST THE BEST (ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING THE COMPETITION ALL AROUND IN VICINITY) SHAKES WERE GOOD BUT NOT VERY THICK THE WAY I WANTED AND PREFER MOSTLY PRICED ON THE HIGHER SIDE
A HIGHLY RECOMMENDED PLACE from my end. Food is great even if not the best. Remaining everything is best out there for a fine...
Read moreInformal, An unconventional hangout place that surely is a breakaway of Formal fine dining restaurant is located in quiet back lanes of Janpath. To Break the stereotype of Formals, the interiors have been done in a Quirky Gypsy style with two floors and A perch to have a Quiet dining at your end.
Their Bar sizzles with some lucrative drinks and live singing that are Cherry on the Top. We had A Musical Merrier Luncheon that was Celebrations of Good times with Chef Specialities and Warm Hospitality. Not go miss their lucrative Buffer offer of 500++ taxes for 4 course meal has surely tempted us to visit more often.
Even located in the Quietest lane, this place is almost packed in busy hours as this is quite favorite amongst corporates and youth groups. It's always best to make a prior reservation before visiting. We took a Balcony seating on the first floor, which had the complete view of Live Singing that added the charm and charisma to our lunch.
We sat down and ordered A Fun filled drink named
Main Nachoon "Chamak Chamak Chum Chum". A Cocktail made up of Vodka Blueberry puree, litchi juice, homemade thyme sugar, and citrus, this was a tantalizing drink that makes you high.
To go along, we ordered:
Schezwan Chicken Wings: These were sticky glazed chicken wings with that perfect heat and glaze that was lip smacking.
Chicken Sui Mui Dimsums: These were delicious chicken stuffed sui mui that were gobbled in few minutes after they were served.
Grilled Fish in lemon butter sauce: This was superb and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED at this place. Flaky, juicy and Presented Beautifully, this fish was Perfection. We couldn't stop ourselves from repeating the order for 2nd time. It was lovely.
Lastly we Tried their Chicken and Mushroom Risotto, which was mouth melt-in and cooked to Perfection.
Overall, our Luncheon was Awesome with Live Singing, Great Vibes and Fantastic Food. A must visit place, if you want to eat Informally and...
Read moreMy husband and I had the misfortune to visit this restaurant a couple of weeks ago while we were visiting Delhi. Our guide from Hello India Tours recommended this place along with a few others. I wanted to go to a south Indian restaurant however the queue was very long, so we gave in and went to this restaurant to save time.
One of the chefs kept going around each table asking how the food was and introduced the chef who prepared the food, etc. It felt like they were trying hard to create a narrative that the restaurant is high quality. We had just received the starters (Garlic bread) when he came to our table and asked how the food was. When we said that we've just started eating, he then proceeded to ask how the garlic bread was? (My initial thought was - "give me some space!" although I wanted to ask, "did you make the bread?" because if not, you've basically put some cheese on bread and grilled it in the oven).
Long story short, my husband got food poisoning after having the butter chicken from this place. He found the chicken texture to be odd. I found a piece of foil seal which we find on fresh cream bottles in my Thai curry. The staff there did not apologise for this but offered for extra portion after we had finished eating. The Thai curry was a bit salty so needless to say I did not want any more of it. I was shocked to see that we were charged Rs. 145 for mineral water alone. Overall, we paid Rs. 3471 for 2 mocktails, 1 garlic bread, 1 butter chicken naan, 1 thai curry. And Rs. 300 for staff service or something in addition to the normal taxes.
Turns out their charges are quite high because the place is basically frequented by foreign tourists during the day who are brought in by their tour guides. The guides get 25% discount on their food. Anyway, I would never go back to this...
