Odeon Social — Restaurant in New Delhi

Cool place located in the heart of the city. Unique yet stylish interiors, friendly staff, excellent food presentation and good tasting food should sum up my experience in Odeon Social. Visited the place for a quick bite since it was past time for lunch. We had ordered for butter chicken biryani, butter chicken with choice of naan/roti as an accompaniment that comes with the dish. The food tasted awesome, butter chicken biryani sounded quite different but it was good. I loved the chilled out ambiance with unstructured chairs and tables, antique items neatly placed on the tables (like old telephones, typewriter, etc.), a wall representing library design, a pair of swings in the smoking zone, unique serving plates, the dabba in which the bill is presented, school uniforms like uniform as staff attire, which not only caught my attention but also graced the restaurant's style. I was taking a tour of the restaurant when I bumped into an interesting section of the restaurant - @socialoffline which gives fun@work a new definition, basically you get your laptop, maybe colleagues of your choice, sign up for @socialoffline and bingo you have a workspace in the midst of a cool place where you can order food&drinks at your table instead of the boring machine made coffees and cafetaria lunch. I like stairs, they are made of wooden.... Then old stone floor, which gives it bit heritage kind of ambience. Ambience is darker side, dim lighting. They used lots of medals, I don't know weather they won it or for decoration purpose, I like the idea. Food and beverages displays are interesting. Their menu card is like mid day newspaper. The dishes I don't like, they are unhealthy because their coating is broken, although they are going with the theme, but I strongly recommend to change. (they can replace same dishes with new ones) Food was tasty, I have not tasted any beverage They serve alcoholic and non alcoholic beverage both. They have big TV to enjoy matches with food. Music was loud as usual these places have. Service was slow. Although I m not sure it's usual or happened today only. It's on first floor in D block and not wheelchair accessible.

5th Aug 2019, I visited them again and glad they have changed their serving dishes... Service was again slow. Their serving portion is more than enough for one person, so please order wisely... They accept cash, card, paytm Toilets are...

Social has been at my to go list for long, and finally yesterday I was able to find time to go there. I had heard about it's ambiance and some amazing food a lot....and the place lived up to the expectations.

Starting from it's door, which looks like there's gonna be an elevator ahead, but as soon as it opens, you see huge wide stairs following up up. This was a different concept which I really liked.

Another thing that I found different for good, was it has a separate outside sitting where people can sit, eat and can smoke, without bothering anyone else with smoke. And the rest of the place inside is smoke free, you can enjoy with your friends and family.

Coming to the food now, I ordered a mezze platter and ferrero rocher shake, the platter was really huge, with wide variety of dips and sides, and really worth all the money and enjoy to feed two hungry people :p even before tasting the shake it's presentation stole my heart and then it was really nutty and thick one, with an Ferrero at the top of it.
