What a great week day dinner visit we had!! As a family. And guess what, none of us had beer or for that matter any alcoholic drinks!! Situated bang in between in Connaught Place (D Block), it's accessible by Metro, city buses, autos, taxis. Enough paid parking so don't hesitate to get your own car. My 82 year old father didn't mind climbing steep stairs. And that is the only problem with the place. When we asked, it was told that the place unlikely to get a lift. So the venue is off limits for those who can't climb stairs - plenty of them too! But once you reach, the decor is beautiful, the layout is spacious, the seating arrangents are aesthetically done. The lighting is good except that some yellow bulbs can end up casting your shadow on the table. That can be distracting, especially when you are clicking photographs. Menu spread is impressive. From continental to mughlai to Chinese to street food. While options in eachcategory are limited, they were brilliantly prepared. Cost wise we felt that this place is far cheaper than the Beer Café located at Aerocity. I don't know. May be it appeared to us but actually they may be the same. Music was great too, just at the right amplitude. Staff was very courteous, serving was done exceptionally well. Probably the best lot that I have seen for a while in Delhi. Four of us - with mocktails, starters and one dish of dinner each - total cost was a little over 3k. Overall a great place. We couldn't try the beer but surely, when the next occasion beckons, Beer Cafe, Connaught Place will be the preferred...
Read moreI would not say its any different but yes its a more affordable place. though this still does not beat MY BAR at Dariyagunj. The choice of beer is really good considering I prefer the lighter versions this place actually has a choice in that range.
Ambiance is really cosy the high tables lined near the big glass window is very comfortable though you also can lounge in the sofa far back at the end. It cant house too many people but the service is super fast manned by a bunch of enthusiastic youngsters they make sure you get what you want in lightening speed.
Food is fantastic though the portions are big so don't over order. I only tried the starters and grilled chicken both of which was good but yes i could not finish the entire portion and had to get a doggy bag.
If you need to chat with a friend its a good place the music is not screaming and the choice of music is great so you get to have a good conversation. Unlike my fav place MY BAR is loud wild grungy and neurotic but yes The Beer Cafe is a nice alternative if you want to have a...
Read moreI would say I love the vibe of this place. They serve good variety of beer for obvious reasons “Beer Cafe” and I love the fresh brewed beer and the food portion and taste is good too. The only reason why I have rated three stars is because of the hospitality and service. They do levy 10 percent service charge which I never ask them to waive however, upon asking them for handful of peanuts with the beer they simply refuse it. Imagine you have ordered food with your beer which generally takes some time for preparation and asking them just “handful” of plain peanuts with your alcohol is something that you can manage to give. I have been to Gurgaon branches and they never say no to complimentary peanuts that they serve in the very small bowl (used for ketchup) and whenever I visit CP branch and ask them for the same the answer is “NO” or “it’s chargeable” !!! This is a major turn off !! I have visited CP branch almost three times in the last 1-2 months and this is the same answer. Hence, this was my last visit....
