We entered around 7.00 pm , 6 of us went and sat , though the seats was vacant, we were moved to other table saying it's peak time nd take the other table Then a guy came and took menu , we ordered starter and he told it will take more than 30 mins to prepare food and asked us for full course, then we decided not to waste time, even after ordering our food the guy kept on asking us next and kept saying this is spl today, our signature dish etc and he kept increasing the order, then we understood his intention nd cut shot nd told enough To our suprise all orders came even before we finished the starters, nd no place in the table to keep the prepared food, wen we called and asked the person y so early, u guys said it will take 30 mins he didn't give us a proper reply , the we had to eat in a hurry because the food was prepared nd no space , the naan was somked and burnt , none of us could eat it , then we finished the dinner and asked for the bill, wen we checked the bill , they charged us for the item which we did not eat , wen we questioned them they were like we ordered it so it came in bill , we said we didn't get it delivered to our table, they were like table was full so we could not place it , if u want well give u take away Never seen this kind of cheating anywhere I am sure everyone who visited this hotel would have face one of the above mentioned problems but most people don't question them or simply ignore it , which these people take advantage off, nd finally it's too costly even the non veg hotel would cost so...
ย ย ย Read moreI visited this restaurant in Pondicherry on 18th October for dinner.
My first impression wasnโt great โ it seemed the staff had difficulty communicating in English, and they werenโt very responsive initially. I tried speaking in Hindi, which helped a bit. I also got the sense that they tend to judge customers based on appearance. The staff member who first approached us didnโt seem interested in serving. However, once I placed a decent-sized order and spoke firmly, the service improved noticeably.
The food was excellent โ I ordered a Sizzler, Bhature Platter, some starters, and drinks. Everything tasted great, which is why Iโm giving 4 stars for food quality despite the rough start.
I visited again on 19th October around 4 PM for lunch, and this time the experience was disappointing. The staff stopped me at the entrance saying only snacks were available and didnโt seem welcoming. I still decided to order Arrabbiata Pasta and a Chaat Platter, but the food was below average โ it felt like they were just serving for the sake of it.
Suggestions for the management: โข If the restaurant isnโt fully operational between 4 PM and 7 PM, please consider closing that slot to give staff a proper break instead of serving half-heartedly. โข Train your staff to treat all guests with equal respect โ regardless of how they look, dress, or what language they speak.
The food needs to be maintained very well all the time, not just once or sometimes. The service and attitude need serious improvement to make the overall...
ย ย ย Read moreOur anticipation for the Kailash Parbath (KP) in Pondicherry, cherished from experiences in Chennai and Coimbatore, was high. Although we visited shortly after its inauguration, the ambiance remained pleasing, as expected. The staff, particularly Naveen, our steward, was friendly and adept at explaining the menu and ingredients.
However, the food fell short of expectations. While the Desi Kala Khatta Sarbath was exceptional, earning a 9/10, other dishes disappointed. The paneer tikka starter, served two ways, showcased a fantastic green base marination but fell short with the red masala-coated marinated pieces, which became rubbery at room temperature, warranting a 7/10 rating.
The Bombay vada pav, a craving indulgence, scored a mere 5/10. While the dry powder chutney was commendable, the pav lacked sufficient butter, resulting in dryness, and the vada was disappointingly dry as well.
The famous Ragada Pattice, a staple with set standards, received a disappointing 4/10. The pattice was excessively dry, the channa masala lacked flavor, and the chutneys were inadequately seasoned and served separately, missing the authentic street food experience.
Overall, while KP holds a special place, this visit failed to reignite the excitement. I'm uncertain about returning unless there are significant improvements. Please consider this feedback...
