Blueline Restaurant — Restaurant in Puducherry

I dined with my family at this restaurant during our last trip to Pondicherry. The food is actually quite remarkable -- the pizzas are sumptuous, the kebabs melt in mouth, and the desserts are heavenly (particularly the kesar rasmalai with kesar ice cream).

However, our dining experience at this place was negatively affected by the following three issues: a. The wait time is unusually long. I guess they take 'good things come to those who wait' a little too seriously. b. We found a piece of hair in the mutton kebab (we are unsure if the hair was human or goat). c. They tried unfairly charging us. We had ordered a particular red wine, which they did not have. They served us a different one, but did not tell us that it is more expensive. It is only during bill payment that we discovered the discrepancy.

Despite these negative experiences, I must confess that the team is quite good at problem-solving. Reg. b: they replaced the platter. Reg. c: they, after some haggling, deducted the excess amount from the bill.

We were seated quickly on a Sunday afternoon, and ordered quickly. Our starter and one main came together. We had ordered the panko chicken nachos which arrived without any chicken... we had sent it back and then our other main arrived. The starter didn't arrive until after we'd completed our meal.

The salsa on the nachos were so sweet it made it inedible. The lobster was ok although the lobster didn't taste fresh which for the amount they charge (800+) is ridiculous. The tequila lime chicken pasta was ok. The drinks, after they arrived was ok.

Service was abysmal. No one came to check on us, we had to wait 10+ minutes to get the attention of anyone when the restaurant was basically empty. The food didn't seem fresh. The dessert was ok, not as expected and ofc LONG wait time. The only thing good was the iced coffee.
