In these days of social media, it is easier to see, read or hear about different places to eat. Misal is a dish that one never gets tired of eating and it was with great anticipation, that I tried the misal at Chandravilas upahar gruh. The misal gets ready to be served at 7:30 am and I was the first misal customer for that day. The other customers were eating Pohe, which looked delicious. The misal rassa was watery and made with potato and soaked dried green peas. The misal base had pohe and farsan with onion. The overall taste of the misal was pleasant, but not outstanding. The misal is priced at Rs.90/- and there are several other places that serve thicker misal rassa and misal with more and better ingredients and items than this one.The misal is different from the traditional spicy misal and many misal lovers might not like it. I tried the Batata bhaji ( Aloo pakora) which were crisp and tasty. The green chutney served with the bhaji was excellent. I also had Batata wada sample, which was very nice. The place is small and has an old feel that is charming. The service was excellent and the overall experience was great. This place is worth trying once, for a misal and wada fan if passing...

The freshly fried batata wadas were placed in large vessel. We ordered a misal, vada sample, palak & potato bhaji and buttermilk to go with it. The misal was mildly spiced, the gravy with green vatana and potatoes on the thinner side. Served with generous amount of farsan and fresh pav. The vada sample (batata wada served with misal gravy) goes well with pav rather than slice bread. The buttermilk was refreshing. Also asked the owner, Sameer to pack shankarpalli to take home. Don't miss this delightful place, surely...
Read moreThe place fell short of expectations. Arriving with a modest appetite, I opted for their renowned Palak Bhaji. Despite requesting it fresh and piping hot, I was served cold bhajis with watery chutney, diminishing the experience. Yet, the shankarpali and tea provided some consolation. Nonetheless, the ambiance evoked nostalgia, reminiscent of 90s restaurants. The vintage furniture and decor transported patrons to a bygone era, adding to its charm. But overall experience is quite good. These type of places are rare to...
