The Great Old Radio Famous Hotel. Have grown up , eating the famous seekh and kheema with their big sized Tandoori roti. The red pumpkin chutney given with the seekh kebab has never changed, as far as my over 40 years of eating at this place.Thedishesare typical Miya Bhai style , oily, flavourful and mouthwatering. The TEA has also earned its goodwill and people from all over actually come all the way to have tea here. It's always a pleasure to eat here and the rates are also fairly priced. Radio hotel has earned its good will through all these year's and now has become a landmark of Camp in Shivaji market. They serve in full and as well half portions making it easier for the common man. Also a very good system of serving half or full portions of Rice/ Biryani Rice is, they serve with complimentary topped up with choice of dal or surwa. ( They call it "chawal- Dal maarke" and for sure it's a boon for the people who don't want to or afford in ordering a gravy to have with Rice. The non veg dishes are afcus doing the best , but you must try their dal fry or dal tadka. It's something that you wouldn't expect from a restaurant that's famous for Non veg cuisine. The ambiance is as per the location and locality but clean and well kept. The service is upto the mark even in the most busiest hour's. Definitely a pride for Camp...
Read moreA place which you must visit if you love true Mughlai cuisine.
We were short on time, so decided to skip starters and went straight to the main course. We had ordered Chicken Tawa Masala, which was suggested by my friend who had been to this
restaurant.
The dish exceeded all my expectations. The flavors were very new to me. I hadn't tasted something like this before. The chicken was sugood succulent and very well marinated.
But to be very honest the star of the show was the Tandoori roti. Wow! I haven't had a better roti than this till date! The roti was super soft and fluffy and the taste was very soothing.
The ambience is poor.
I don't whether there's a separate family section, but the section that I was sitting in isn't definitely where I would take my family to. This is a more suitable to come with your friends,
I can't wait to come to this place and try out other dishes that they are famous for. If you prefer food over ambience and are a fan of Mughlai cuisine, then this is a place...
Read moreOne of the best places in the camp area to get meat. It can be trusted that you eat what you order, if you're visiting with your family and feel uncomfortable to eat with a room full of men they've got a whole floor upstairs for ladies and families. The food is yum, rates are affordable especially for hostelites and bachelors, being a hostelite myself I understand the struggle to find good food at affordable price. You must visit this place at least once if you're in Pune. Since it's not one of fancy places, the hygiene can be a problem for some and MEN if you're visiting this place don't forget to empty your kidneys first as they don't have a restroom for men, only ladies. Overall, the food was great, rated were affordable and it was a decent place, what else does one need?? So, do visit this place once,...
