My husband and I had to wait a long time at the lobby for our check-in for a booking made a week in advance. Enough time to notice the head front- desk lady, in a pant suit, forgetting she is in the hospitality industry, constantly showing her irritation at a gentleman who was definitely waiting for a much longer time than us. The lady accompanying him sat quietly at the nearby lounge section. This particular gentleman would approach the front dest every 15 minutes, only to be barked at by the front-desk lady, telling him to wait a little longer. I noticed that every progressive encounter with the gentleman just made her more rude. Next was my turn. I will be lying if I say I wasn't already quite scared of approaching her. So I choose the second front desk person who was at the station next to our scary lady. This young woman is in an uniform and definitely better trained for the hospitality industry. I ask her my check-in status. She smiles and says yes, we could go ahead with my check-in. My relief is cut short when the scary lady suddenly decides that she is taking over my check-in process from the young woman after loudly admonishing her for making some mistake, unbeknownst to me. La! I smile at her. She is curt. She gives me a choice of 2 kinds of room and asks me to pick one. I softly ask if I could have a look at the rooms before I decide. "No" she says. After a pause she adds "You have to choose right now." I pick, aghast and disappointed. I want an end to this horrifying situation. A rather dark passageway leads us to our room. A room with two separate single beds pushed together, very uncomfortable for a couple to sleep on (as my husband and I later find out) a bathtub and window walls with a striking view of the tree tops of green koregaon park. Being a claustrophobic I look out to see if the window walls opened or a balcony perhaps. Neither! I tell myself not to panic. A bedside panel that controls more than 10 different light sources in the room doesn't include temperature control. The air-conditioning is either full blast or off. The bedside table top had several beverage ring stains. The beautiful recliner lounge in the corner had dusty shoe marks on it. On, ringing for the housekeeping staff, an elderly gentleman showed up, sharply dressed, very polite. He was unsuccessful in clearing off the ring stains, perhaps too old, the stains, however pretty much successful in dusting off the shoe marks on the recliner. Tiny particles of dust, formed a cloud against the window walls of glass with the magnificent green view. Cough! cough! I thought as I forced myself to focus on the view. When I informed him that I'm unable to locate the place where any hand towels might be, the housekeeping gentleman nodded politely, swiftly walked to his magical housekeeping cart, standing outside at the galley, reappeared with two neatly folded hand towels and placed them by the washbasin. Night came, we froze despite the warm duvets. Come morning, we walked to the breakfast buffet, a pretty sad affair in itself, very limited spread, just the saddest looking chicken sausages I had ever laid my eyes on and boiled eggs, in the non-vegetarian section. However, by my 3rd breakfast, I found that, I could persuade the person behind the saute counter to slice up my chicken sausages and fry them further with any of the many condiments on the omlette tray. The sausages could finally be eaten. You could also ask them to make you pancakes and top them up with whipped cream and chocolate syrup, plain old honey, if you prefer, all available at the bread counter. In conclusion, paying close to 8000 Indian rupees for a night I would definitely wish for better behaviour and service by hotel staff, cleaner rooms with all the appropriate necessities and much better food. Final tip. Ask for rooms on the higher floors if you want to...

1st December 2023, one of worst start of the day in my life!!!
Worst, rude, manipulative and business minded front desk staffs. Stay arrangements for guests attending her son's engagement ceremony was made by my Pune friend at O Hotel, Koregoan, Pune from 29th Nov' 23 onwards. It was mentioned that 3 of us would be arriving by 8am on the 1st of Dec and the rooms were to be alloted to us immediately after checking in. 2 of us were flying in from B'lore and 1 was driving down from Mumbai. Inspite of prior instructions the lady in front desk refused to give us rooms saying their checkin time was 12pm n after much discussion she asks us to adjust with the other wedding guests in their room till 11.30am n later she would allot us 2 rooms as per the list. When asked about pre-booking charge she immediately asked us to pay ₹3600/- n on paying she alloted a room to us. My friend was told about this n she called up clarifying with the manager that we shouldn't be charged n to allot us the rooms and to refund the amount, which was done by one Mr Mac immediately. Later my Mumbai friend arrived at 10.15am n was at front desk at 10.20am inspite of this she was refused the complimentary breakfast. Though the breakfast timings are 7.30am to 10.30am. Lunch was also organised by my friend from 12.30pm to 2pm. When we went down for lunch once again we are told our names are not there in the so called list n we need to pay for our lunch. We agreed n whilst having lunch my friend walks in with her husband n was shocked when the lunch bill was given to us. This made no difference to the staff, who merely said sorry n walked away. The overall environment of the hotel is not lively unlike other places that I've stayed. We friends checked out of the hotel immediately the next day itself after being treated so badly by the entire front desk team. We shifted to Lemon Tree Hotel, Vimananagar n completed our Pune stay relaxing n in a more comfortable atmosphere. Please think twice before booking into O Hotel. Koregoan, Pune- it's not at...
Read moreHotel management will not protect your peace and life from terrorising trouble makers
I was staying here with my wife. A guest in a room nearby was having a party on the room. When we couldn't sleep at 01:30 in the morning, my wife went to talk with the other guest to ask them to reduce the noise level so we could sleep. The guest in the other room ignored her and turned rude. So we informed the reception. For a while, they didn't do anything, so we called again. They sent a security guard, and the guest scolded the security guard. From the loud conversations, I believe I could hear another guest arguing with the drunk trouble maker as well, but I'm not sure. Occasionally, the noise got less, just to become loud again the moment we were about to fall asleep. But can you imagine what it does to your body when you're trying to sleep and for two hours, every time you're about to really fall asleep, you're woken up by abrupt noise? The noise didn't stop, so we called the reception again. We could hear the guest say that because we complained they now intended to not give us any sleep. The hotel staff still didn't take any action. They could've made the guest calm down, they could've offered us another room, but nothing. When my wife was about to fall asleep again around 3am, the troublemaker banged the fist on the door with so much force, that my wife got a panic attack. When I touched her chest, her heart was racing so fast and violently, that we both thought she's going to have a heart attack any moment. I had to take her to a nearby hospital. At 4am, we returned to the hotel, and heard that the trouble maker has checked out. But other than warm words, the hotel has not done anything to compensate us and right the wrong that for 2 hours, they allowed the trouble maker to freely rob other guests of their sleep instead of supporting the peaceful guests right from the start. While the hotel premises are nice, the lack of support by the hotel management to deal with a terrorising guest leaves me in anguish, and I cannot recommend this...
