Cafe Yezdan: A Pune Camp Classic for Tea and Bun Maska

Calling all tea and bun maska enthusiasts! Tucked away in Pune Camp, Cafe Yezdan is a haven for those seeking a taste of tradition. This iconic cafe, established in 1964, has been brewing up strong cups of Irani chai and serving melt-in-your-mouth bun maska for generations.

What makes Cafe Yezdan special?

Tea Time Nirvana: Forget fancy brews, Cafe Yezdan perfects the art of the classic Irani chai. The strong, milky concoction is sure to hit the spot and become your go-to comfort drink.

Bun Maska Heaven: Forget dry buns and skimpy butter. Cafe Yezdan's bun maska is a thing of beauty. Freshly baked buns are generously slathered with real butter, creating a textural and flavorful dream.

Beyond the Bun: While the bun maska steals the show, their menu offers a variety of Irani staples. Try their egg dishes like the double egg bhurji for a protein boost. Just be prepared, the omelets might be a bit on the simpler side.

Things to keep in mind:

Be prepared for a crowd: Cafe Yezdan's popularity translates to a bustling atmosphere. Embrace the lively vibe and enjoy the experience.

Parking might be a challenge: With limited parking in the area, you might need to factor in a short walk.

Overall, Cafe Yezdan offers a unique and delicious taste of Pune's Irani cafe culture. The exceptional bun maska and strong chai are worth the wait, even if the omelets are...

Cafe Yezdan in Pune is a nostalgic gem that has been serving patrons for 50 years. This Irani café exudes old-world charm, offering a unique glimpse into the city’s culinary heritage. From the moment you step inside, you are transported back in time with its vintage décor, wooden furniture, and sepia-toned photographs adorning the walls. The atmosphere is cozy and unpretentious, making it a perfect spot for both solo diners and groups of friends.

The menu at Cafe Yezdan is a delightful mix of traditional Irani specialties and classic café fare. The bun maska, a soft bun slathered with butter, is a must-try and pairs perfectly with their famous Irani chai. The menu also includes a variety of egg preparations, sandwiches, and bakery items, all reasonably priced.

What sets Cafe Yezdan apart is not just its food, but its warm and friendly service. The staff are attentive and always ready to share stories about the café’s rich history. This personal touch adds to the overall experience, making every...

Had heavy expectations before visiting this place. Disappointed to say that the expectations were not met.

The quantity of Tea is good (more when compared to regular chai shops quantity). The taste is sweet. Did not taste any other flavors apart from sweetness.

Bread Omelette is ok. It tasted bland. (Salt & pepper were given to add according to your taste)

Bun Maska is good. Liked it. The bun is very fresh & the taste of maska is very good. Could say, one of the best bun maskas' tasted in Pune.

Brun Maska is good. I've tasted a brun Maska for the first time. Loved the crispy dish. The crispness on the outside & mild softness on the inside which is coated with the tasty Maska is good. Best when dipped in chai before eating.

Brun Maska and Bun Maska are definitely worth trying here.

The service is good and this place is a bit loud. Not recommended when you are looking for a quiet place and definitely recommended if you are looking for a place to visit with a...

Went their with great anticipation. After reading all the postive reviews had heavy expectations. But it was a huge disappointment as none of the expectations were met. The quality of Tea is not good when compared to other irani restaurants. You can get better irani chai at kohinoor or diamond. The tea was only sweet and lacked the flavour of an irani chai. Omelette was ok. But had less salt so taste was not that good. Bun Maska was also not good.Though it was fresh,i was white in color.Browner the bun tastier it is. So again Kohinoor,Mahanaaz and diamond have better bun muska at same price. Brun Maska was not available and it is my favourite so it was another disappointment. Coffee was good and was made according to the given instructions i.e strong with less sugar, so the service is nice. The place is small and gets quite loud when crowded. Not recommended when you are looking for a quiet place. Not recommended if you want to have typical irani tea and bun muska.
