Nice location along the river. Parking in the lot fills quickly but there is also parking on the street. Very modern and sleek appearance. Inside, the decor is a bit "industrial" with open ceilings showing insulation and other infrastructure. The staff was attentive without being intrusive and the service was nicely paced. Our server asked if we had any after dinner plans (e.g., show tickets) that would require a faster-paced meal. Interestingly, when making our on-line reservation, the system said they had a dining time-limit: weekdays 2 hours; weekends 1.5 hours. Half the menu is devoted to "adult beverages." The food menu has a few items in each category – good for diners (less confusion, temptation and distraction) and for the kitchen. I saw fish, fowl, meat, and vegetarian options – not sure about vegan, though. The execution was a bit mixed, though. All the food looked lovely although only one was colorful (the scallops) and I didn’t notice many aromas (could be a function of my allergies though). The appetizers were tasty as was their wild mushroom soup. The beetroot risotto had very good flavors, but the risotto was not at all creamy and the vegetables were undercooked. The mushroom pave was mostly brown and reminded us of turkey stuffing, although the flavors were much better. The corvina special was well-cooked. The best dish of the night was the diver scallops – large, nicely seared, tender and sweet. The vegetables were colorful and very nicely cooked. We selected three desserts to share. The best was the “Any Colour You Like” popsicle – a nice blast of fruit flavor; sadly not prepared by the staff but rather a locally produced product. The Mocha cake had only a faint coffee flavor and the cake part seemed soggy. The worst dish of the night was the monkey bread – a large dish suitable for sharing, but the bread was dry and hard (needed to soak in something lovely) and the cherry brandy “pie filling” tasted like something out of a can. Not a good way to end an...
Read moreI recently visited Udaipur and had the opportunity to try this place. It is a cute little cafe located near the famous ghat. First impressions: the place is really inviting with its lovely graffiti on the walls and the decor. A tea cafe, the place also has lots of options for coffee lovers. Their coffee beans are freshly sourced and grounded in a wonderful machine right before you. The end result? You're in coffee heaven! Coming to the food, I tried the mushroom burger and the tandoori paneer pizza on the recommendation of the staff. Everything is freshly made in house- right from the burger buns to the fries and the pizza base. The burger is so soft that it literally melts in your mouth. And the pizza is one of the best fusion dishes I've had. My parents who aren't really keen on fast food were licking their fingers and couldn't stop singing praises of the pizzas long after we were back! Their white sauce veggie pasta is another excellent try. The sauce is cooked to perfection and if there is any comfort food in the world, it is this. I think if they serve garlic bread along with it, that would be even better! The veg quesadilla is unlike any other quesadillas I've ever seen. It is huge. And so filling that you can easily share it between 2-4 people depending on your appetite. Finally, I tried their walnut brownie which again was freshly baked in house. It was dense and yet felt light as air with really strong flavours.
Their drinks menu is outstanding. Tried their butterscotch shake and Pina colada, both were extremely flavorful and punched with freshness.
P.S. the staff is extremely polite and helpful. You can take up their recommendations without any...
Read moreRecently been to this cafe located near Gangaur Ghat, right in the heart of Chandpole which is one of the most sought after touristic attractions in Udaipur. It's an average sized cafe with neatly done interiors & decor, something that'll resemble the simplicity of life in Udaipur. They've got few books & a guitar which the visitors can read or play while enjoying their meals. Coming to the menu, it is one of those highly detailed menus that you'd love to read, no need to call the waiter & ask about the dish preparation as everything's well explained in the menu. Also the menu is diverse including delicacies from American, Italian, Chinese, Mexican & Indian cuisines. If by any chance you're a tea/coffee lover, this place is going to be heaven for you. They've got multiple varieties available & the preparation is another class here. Seating area is simple & service is prompt. Recommendations - Veggie Cheese Quesadilla, Choco Moco Shake & Tandoori Paneer...
