Disgusted with my entire experience at Sunset Terrace on November 12th. I booked a table for 5:00 pm and upon reaching the venue was not greeted and treated properly. We weren't even directed to our table. I am visiting from Melbourne and wanted my Parents and in-laws to have a good evening experience but was rather treated inappropriately. We were asked to take any table and after a minute of sitting at a table, we were moved to another table and then it was a rushed experience then on. After placing the order, I felt like they just wanted us to leave from there as they repeatedly came and asked us to leave coz they wanted to set the table for dinner from 6:30 pm. Things mentioned in the menu weren't there in the stock and after getting our cheque they wanted us to pay fast and leave. Hence, in that state i didn't check the bill and after having reached home i saw that they charged us for a tea that they themselves said wasn't available and an extra coffee.
They made me feel that they were serving me for the heck of it and didn't really feel welcomed in that place and when looked around i saw the royal treatment that they gave foreigners. It's amazing how indians are treated by other indians in their own country.
I thought it must have been a mistake and reached the venue next day to talk to the management about the same but they just washed their hands off the entire incident and didn't bother double checking with their staff, neither did they have cameras to check, nor did they have any way to check the same in their system. Rather, they defied us and the server, Kalu Singh lied through his teeth and Ajay, so called manager supported him. I was disgusted and appalled as I hadn't seen this kind of behaviour in a long long time. This is a disgrace to HRH group and Royal highness as they appoint such staff who are slack and frauds in their professional environment and know nothing about customer service.
It's not about the money but ethics and values and i am feeling cheated...
Read moreWe had a delightful dining experience at The Sunset Terrace, located within the beautiful Taj Fateh Prakash Palace.
What We Ordered We tried the Pad Thai Noodles, Paneer preparation, and Kulchaâan interesting blend of Indian and Asian flavors. Each dish was thoughtfully presented and lived up to the high expectations one has from a Taj property.
Portion Size The portion sizes were generous yet well-balancedâperfect for sharing without any wastage. Every plate felt fulfilling, with just the right amount to enjoy a complete meal.
Taste & Quality The Pad Thai had authentic flavors with a mild twist, well-suited to an Indian palate. The Paneer was soft and rich, cooked to perfection with robust spices, and paired excellently with the Kulcha, which was fluffy and fresh from the tandoor. The quality of ingredients and preparation clearly reflected Tajâs high standards.
Service & Hospitality Special appreciation for Nawal, our server for the evening. He was attentive, courteous, and ensured that our dining experience was seamless. From checking on our preferences to offering timely suggestions, his service was top-notch.
A Beautiful Gesture To our surprise, we were offered a complimentary dessert at the endâa warm and thoughtful touch that truly elevated the experience and left us with a smile.
Final Thoughts
With its majestic lakefront setting, delectable food, and impeccable service by staff like Nawal, dining at The Sunset Terrace is more than just a mealâitâs an experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy a royal...

Even if you have a reservation they seem oddly defensive towards outside guests but let's put that aside. Once you arrive at the restaurant, the service is diligent and staff are very (too) deferential but they're not trained to 5 star standard. They were slightly taken aback when I ask to get a drink at the bar before dinner. After all the place is known for its view..... the best view is actually from the bar area, not the restaurant. I was hoping that my drink bill could be added to my dinner bill (it's literally two ends of the same room) but my request seemed to cause a mini commotion.... and I ended up paying for it separately. Food is really quite good. Nothing to add there. Perhaps a few more vegan options would have been nice. Other people in the room are Europeans often dressed in shorts / casual. The decor of the room is more like 2000s / nothing special / needs to be refreshed or rethought. I was left underwhelmed by this experience. I was also met with very odd stares when I offered to walk myself to the gate instead of having a golf cart taking me there. Apparently a 5 min walk after an Indian meal is too much for...
