Dindigul Thalappakatti Restaurant in Erode is a place I've frequented multiple times, for both dine-in and take-away, and each visit has been a culinary journey worth remembering. One of the undeniable highlights is their biryani offerings; both the mutton and chicken biryanis are delightful, rich in flavor and aroma, embodying the essence of what biryani should be. The rice grains are perfectly cooked, and the meat is tender, blending harmoniously with the medley of spices.
However, not all dishes are equally stellar. The Nethili Fry was a letdown, lacking the crispiness and flavor one would expect. Similarly, the Mutton Chops were mostly bone, which diminished the overall eating experience. On the flip side, the Tandoori Chicken was a hit, marinated well and cooked to perfection, providing a tantalizing smoky flavor. Other dishes like Mutton Kola Urundai, Crispy Prawn, and Crispy Chicken Stick were satisfactory but didn't necessarily stand out as extraordinary.
Parking is available roadside, and more often than not, you'll find a spot. This adds to the convenience factor when you're planning a visit. However, the weekends can get pretty crowded, and you may find yourself waiting for a table. While this testifies to the restaurant's popularity, it can be a minor inconvenience if you're not a fan of waiting.
The ambiance is comfortable and inviting, adding to the overall dining experience. Service is generally good, but expect some delays during peak hours, especially on weekends. The pricing is reasonable, considering the quality and portion sizes, which makes it a good value for money.
In summary, Dindigul Thalappakatti Restaurant offers a mostly satisfying dining experience with a few dishes that could use improvement. The good far outweighs the not-so-good, making it a reliable spot for a fulfilling meal. Despite minor inconveniences like occasional waiting times and a few hit-or-miss dishes, the restaurant earns a well-deserved...

Read moreVery disappointing experience – poor service and rude behavior
I recently visited this restaurant and had a truly disappointing experience. I placed an order for a dish while dining in, but within less than a minute, I politely requested the attending staff to change my order as I had changed my mind. To my surprise, the staff member firmly refused to make any changes, stating that once an order is placed, it cannot be altered — even though hardly a minute had passed.
What made the situation worse was the way the staff behaved. Instead of handling the request calmly and professionally, the attendant was rude and dismissive. There was no attempt to understand or accommodate a very reasonable request, and I was made to feel like an inconvenience just for asking.
This kind of rigid policy and unwelcoming behavior makes me question how they manage customer service at all. Hospitality is about being flexible and considerate — especially when it’s such a small request made instantly after ordering.
Overall, this experience left a very bad impression. I was not expecting such harsh treatment over a simple order change. I hope the management seriously rethinks their service standards and staff training.
