Hotel Merilin — Hotel in Tamil Nadu

I had stayed for Night.

Positives: The hotel is right on a busy road. Positive part is you are cutoff from noise once enter.

Negatives:

Reception Staff: I was a walkin customer. He showed me couple of rooms and I decided on super deluxe rooms. He quoted a price and then i had negotiated a price which he agreed as I was booking two rooms. Next day while I was checking out, the person wasn't there and another person comes gives me a bill for the quoted price and not negotiated price.when the new person called him, he says he never agreed for any price. Never expected such cheap behaviour. Since I was in hurry, i had to leave it at that.

*Deluxe room, the basic category published online are very small so much so it doesn't even have a chair to sit. So we had to opt for next category.

*Cleanliness wise it kind off OKish.

Washrooms are OK but looked dated.

*They have one service guy for all the 4 floors. It wasn't big issue as there was very low occupancy when we stayed.

The hotel doest have any parking facility. You need to park it the public parking under...

Myself and my wife booked this hotel for 1400₹ for a night.

I was warmly welcomed by the person in reception with a quote "it police raids you should handle it we are not responsible for it". I showed my smartcard (tamilnadu government ration card) to him, he didn't care about it... Third rated cheap hospitality

Tv and cot was good.

AC is window AC... Which was poor Bathroom geyser was not working, water was leaking from geyser to a mirror light which was highly dangerous. when i asked they asked me to take bath in other room in another floor in which that geyser also was not working...

No toiletries provided, no room service...

Complimentary breakfast was okay, not that great.

This hotel is highly priced for the quality, i do not recommend this hotel ever to anyone, not even the person i hate. We deserve a better accommodation for...

It’s location is wonderful. In the heart of the city and dot on the busy main road and close to the Bus stand. I doubt there is any parking facility. Rooms are of adequate size, neatly maintained and minimum toiletries are provided.

There’s a vegetarian restaurant in the entrance. We had dinner and breakfast there. Cleanliness and taste are moderate. Service was quick and staff were courteous.

I want to flag a serious issue. We are senior citizens. We had pre= booked the room through OYO app at a rate displayed in it. At the time of check in the receptionist refused to accept the booking citing the rates were low and booking can not be done unless I shell out additional Rs. 500. Else I might look for other Lodges. This was atrocious and we had heated arguments. Later, he spoke to the owner who was graceful and go ahead with the original booking. This is my second unpleasant...
