This year for my birthday, we went to Global Barbecue. It is located in Vijay Elanza, opposite to SMS Hotels. It was my first visit, and there weren't many tables. When we arrived, it was empty, but it was full by the time we were leaving. Maybe it was because it was a Sunday.

First, they served welcome drink, crispy corn and creamy potatoes, like any other barbecue. I wasn't happy with the taste. Usually, I take two helpings of creamy potatoes, but here, they weren't that good. Then we had barbecue chicken, mutton, prawns, and mutton kebabs. All were good.

The menu was a little less extensive compared to other barbecues. The chicken biryani, kulcha, paneer butter masala, veg noodles, and curd rice were good, but all the other gravies tasted the same. In fact, I felt that garam masala was used too generously in all the side dishes, spoiling their uniqueness. The sweets and dessert menu were also not up to expectations. I mean only limited items. There was no live counter for dosa, pizza, rabbit meat, octopus meat, etc., which is very common in other barbecues. But whatever they served, the portion size was good. The service was good and polite.

Overall, our family had mixed reactions. Some liked this Global Barbecue, and some preferred the other one. So, go with low expectations.

Global barbeque: Team lunch after a looonng time today. Initially took sometime for the non veg items to get ready and after that it was a good service although we had to sometimes ask twice or thrice for the fill. Cheese potato: Very spicy with tangy taste. This was ok. Crispy corn: good as usual . Chicken wings: Juicy and tasty. Masala had blended well with the chicken. Mutton seekh: Good one. Tandoori chicken: similar to wings with good taste. BBQ chicken, fish tasted wonderful. I opted for chicken more than the fish. BBQ pineapple was amazing. It was sweet and awesome. Chicken briyani: seeraga samba rice with good taste. Although we liked and few didn't. Chicken curry: well prepared. Good combination for naan and chapathi but I ate just the chicken pieces alone. Other available items were Alleppey fish curry and mutton curry. Coconut burfi: tasted like milk sweet. Coconut burfi mathiri illa.. Ada Pratham payasam: good one. Gulab jamoon: jamoon was hard. May be it was prepared at that time. Brownie: this was also little hard compared to the normal brownie. Main course were less when compared to pre covid era. A good try if you prefer starters...

Global Barbeque, conveniently located on the ground floor just as you enter, offers a pleasant dining experience with good air-conditioning and a comfortable atmosphere. Despite arriving towards the end of service hours, the staff remained polite and attentive, ensuring that our dining experience was enjoyable.

The restaurant follows a similar style to other barbeque establishments, with a focus on grilling at the table. The staff were particularly accommodating, adjusting the spice levels of the barbeque to our preference, which added a nice personalized touch.

The barbeque items were flavorful and well-prepared. The main course offerings were decent, aligning with what you would expect from a standard buffet. Desserts were also on par with the rest of the meal, offering a satisfying conclusion to the dining experience.

Global Barbeque is currently running a promotion with a flat rate of 750 for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian buffets, making it a great value for the variety and quality of food provided.
