I personally don't like the taste of food. Even when chef asked me the feedback, I honestly told him about both Prawn & Fish meals I ordered.
Fish Meals: Fish kolambu which was very sour and I can able to feel the taste of chilli powder and sour (seems like not been properly boiled), fish fry was good (but not worth for money) For a cost of 349Rs - 1 cup of kolambu, 2 fried pieces, 1 cup of rasam & 350gms of white rice, which is far expensive and not worth for money
Prawn Meals: 1 cup of prawn thokku (very less quantity), 1 cup of prawn kolambu, 1 cup of rasam & 350gms of white rice. In this I also informed the Chef that if take off prawn over cooked piece from kolambu and give it to someone, they cannot find out the flavour of prawn and they would say it is a pulippu kolambu only. Chef responded that they will take my feedback.
Another ultimate is, I ordered for Budget fish meals, but server said they will give another alternate fish meals which will be exactly as same as I ordered and only difference would be fish fry. But actually there was also price difference which was very surprise when I received a bill (100rs extra).
When I asked this, server said he will bear the loss realizing his mistake, however I went and paid the full amount. These are all basic which hotel management should be taking care of.
For one thing I can agree that this feels like home food.... Because, at home we will have only kolambu and fry/thokku for side dish. Similar way Meen Satti also providing only these for the people who afforded to pay 350Rs for just kolambu, fry & rasam which is far...
Read moreThe ambience is decent with luxurious set up and the service provided was excellent the staff were extremely polite and understanding I am afraid that's it the food was total disappointment. We went as a family to celebrate a birthday but the whole mood was spoiled by trying the "special" fish salna which was nothing but a the most diluted form of fish soup the fish pieces were tasteless as if eating a boiled fish. The quantity of fish Chuka was for a kids portion and then the infamous fish chatti with boneless pieces the tamarind was too much and the curry is not at all fresh though it was 9 PM still the curry tasted as if made in the morning or day before. The Kalamari Golden rings would give quite a good competition to all the elastics as it was so rubbery it is impossible to take a bit we would have to swallow it whole. The crab omlette and Nandu rasam though we were able to see crab in the dishes it had no crab flavour. Keeping in mind to not spoil our moods any further we cancelled all the other orders which we had placed and left the hotel in utter disappointment by seeing the price...
Read moreMy recent dining experience at meen satti left much to be desired, particularly when it came to their seafood offerings. From start to finish, the meal was a disappointment, failing to live up to even the most modest expectations.
Upon arrival, the ambiance seemed promising, with elegant décor and a pleasant atmosphere. However, any hope for a satisfying dining experience quickly dwindled as soon as the seafood dishes arrived.
The first red flag was the freshness— the fish curry which cost around 500 rupees which doesn't have the taste of fish
Furthermore, the presentation of the dishes was lackluster at best. It was a stark contrast to the enticing images depicted on the menu.
Overall, my experience at meen satti was deeply disappointing, particularly in regards to their seafood offerings. Given the high prices and the hotel's reputation, I expected much more. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this establishment to fellow seafood enthusiasts seeking a memorable...
