I recently had the pleasure of dining at Ya Mohideen Briyani in Velachery, and my culinary experience left me thoroughly impressed. The star of the show was undeniably the briyani – a tantalizing blend of aromatic spices, perfectly cooked rice, and succulent meat that left my taste buds dancing with delight. Additionally, I decided to indulge in the grill chicken, and to say it was delicious would be an understatement. The smoky flavors and tender texture made it a delightful companion to the already exquisite briyani.
What struck me during this visit was the unusual tranquility of the restaurant, particularly surprising given my previous encounters with overcrowding during Sunday lunches. Puzzled by the sudden change, I inquired with a friend, who informed me that it was the puratasi month. Intrigued, I discovered that during this auspicious period, many people choose to follow a vegetarian diet, explaining the relatively empty non-vegetarian restaurants. It was an unexpected and pleasant twist to my usual dining experience, making me wish every month could be as serene as puratasi.
As someone who enjoys Sunday lunches at restaurants, the typical hustle and bustle of renowned establishments in Chennai often left me feeling overwhelmed. However, the peaceful ambiance during this visit to Ya Mohideen Briyani was a welcome departure from the norm. The absence of crowds allowed me to savor my meal in a more relaxed setting, enhancing the overall enjoyment of the dining experience.
In conclusion, Ya Mohideen Briyani not only delivered an outstanding culinary experience with its unique and flavorsome briyani but also provided an unexpected oasis of calm during a typically bustling time. The restaurant's commitment to quality and the distinctiveness of its dishes make it a standout choice for anyone seeking an exceptional dining experience in Chennai. This visit has solidified Ya Mohideen Briyani as a go-to destination for those looking to savor delectable flavors without the usual...

It's my first time lunch with "Yaa Mohaideen briyani" Velachery. The restaurant Atmosphere/ Ambiance was good. Their service is Average. (For that price & restaurant standards)
Food was very basic in taste,
Non- boiled rice Briyani, (Taste is ok)
Ghee rice (without Ghee, without cashew, without etc...) It was like Normal white rice.
Deserts was good.
We return food and they provide another palte of briyani...That also non boiled rice.
Ghee rice we served fully so we adjusted by added salt and pepper on it for taste. Waste of money.
I was really upset , bcoz it's a well reputed briyani Restaurant, but their quality and taste of food was...
