I recently visited Anjappar Hotel located on 100ft road in Velachery, and I must say that my experience was quite disappointing. One of the major issues I faced was the excessively long wait time. Despite making a reservation, I had to wait for an extended period before being seated. This lack of efficiency in managing the crowd during peak hours was a major drawback.
To make matters worse, the quantity of food served was very little compared to the high prices they charged. I expected a more generous portion for the amount I paid, but unfortunately, I was left unsatisfied. It was disheartening to see that the management didn't prioritize customer satisfaction in terms of quantity and value for money.
Another concerning aspect was the lack of cleanliness in the restaurant. The dustbin inside the washroom was overflowing with tissues, indicating a lack of attention to basic hygiene and cleanliness. It was evident that the staff did not have enough time to dispose of the waste properly, which created an unhygienic environment for the customers.
On a slightly positive note, the Chettinadu style chicken soup I ordered was decent, but it didn't make up for the overall subpar experience. The saving grace was the kothu parotta, which was quite delicious and one of the better dishes I had during my visit.
If you are considering dining at Anjappar Hotel, I highly recommend avoiding peak hours. The mismanagement during busy times is frustrating and can significantly impact your dining experience. Moreover, if you are specifically looking forward to their Elanner payasam, I suggest calling the restaurant in advance to confirm its availability. This will save you from potential disappointment if the dish is not available when you visit.
Overall, based on my experience, I cannot recommend Anjappar Hotel at 100ft road, Velachery. The long wait times, small food portions, poor management during peak hours, and lack of cleanliness were major drawbacks that overshadowed the few positives. There are better dining options available in the area that offer a more satisfying experience.
In addition to the aforementioned issues, I also noticed that the security personnel at Anjappar Hotel were performing the duties of waiters. This was quite surprising and concerning. Instead of focusing on their primary responsibility of ensuring the safety and security of the premises, they were seen serving food and attending to customers.
This lack of proper staffing and the blurring of roles was a clear indication of poor management. It not only compromised the security of the establishment but also resulted in slower service and increased wait times for customers.
As a customer, I expect the staff to be dedicated to their specific roles and responsibilities. Having security personnel doubling as waiters not only reflects a lack of professionalism but also raises questions about the overall efficiency and organization of the establishment.
This additional observation further reinforces my negative experience at Anjappar Hotel. It is evident that the management needs to address these issues and implement better systems to ensure that the staff is allocated appropriate tasks, ensuring both customer satisfaction and the security of...

Read moreAfter a long time, I had time to have dinner at my favourite chitnadu restaurant. As there is no specific car parking for this restaurant, we have parked our vehicle on the road side. A decent compact around 400 to 500 sqft sized dining area. While we visited many seats were filled, so we found some places and settled on the seats. We have ordered chicken biryani, chicken 🐔 65 as well as Anjappar Special Chicken Dry. After waiting 10 minutes, all the items arrived at our table with a good aroma. Chicken fry is top notch and the chicken 🍗 briyani nicely marinated with all its ingredients and smell was too good and taste is awesome. Particularly I have to quote while seeing Anjappar Chicken Dry....the real Chettinad taste and it was a small quantity around less than 100 grams but nice taste 😜. All the food tasted well. After seeing the bill I was shocked the billing amount was 265 for Anjappar Chicken Dry. So we told our genuine complaint to their executives and wrote our feedback on their complaint register. To consider the pricing for quantity. I request the concerned person to consider the price of Anjappar Chicken dry to fix the reasonable price for its quantity of food. Overall a nice experience.....we had in Anjappar Chettinad Restaurants...I strongly recommend this place to have food along with...
