So we friends wants to visit some cool Place during Halloween weekend so we decided to go purple chameleon. We don’t drink but we like great atmosphere and food. We had booked a table for three through Zomato app since they had discount going on. Purple Chameleon stands out in Chennai’s bustling bar-dining scene with its stylish atmosphere, diverse menu, and energetic vibe. Perched on the 2nd/4th floor of Phoenix Market City, its modern decor—accented by moody purple lighting and chic seating—creates a cool, upscale lounge feel . The menu spans a wide spectrum, blending fast-food favorites, North Indian classics, Chinese staples, and Asian-fusion plates, catering well to varied tastes . Highlights include Karepak Era Prawns in Mangalorean masala and crisp Japanese-style fried chicken topped with sesame-coated onion rings—perfect for sharing . Thai green curry and rum‑soaked gulab jamun are satisfying main-course and dessert picks . Swiggy and Dineout feature popular dishes like paneer tikka, pulled beef tacos, and fish & chips . Service is polished and attentive; many diners praise the staff’s friendliness, though one reviewer noted occasional lapses in hygiene—spotting a mouse near the bar—which reportedly earned a nonchalant staff response . The bar is a serious draw: craft cocktails elicit high praise (“deadly”) and the alcohol menu includes a solid pint selection. The ambience thrives on lively beats; it’s ideal for groups or nights out, though quieter conversations may be tough due to the upbeat music . With ample seating, live-sports viewing, and pre-book offers like 25–35% discounts. Purple Chameleon is a vibrant, stylish destination for cocktails and sharable plates. Its menu is diverse, drinks are top-notch, and the vibe is energetic—perfect for parties and lively dinners. Just double-check during peak hours on...
Read moreIG: foodie_foxx I had the pleasure of visiting Purple Chameleon, a bar located within Phoenix Mall in Chennai Velachery on a Saturday evening. The establishment boasts a decent ambiance with a crowd that matches the weekend spirit. However, one aspect that left me somewhat disappointed was the early closing time, shutting its doors at midnight when I had hoped for a later closing hour. Nevertheless, I found solace in the exceptional music spun by a talented DJ, which enhanced the overall experience.
Turning to the culinary offerings, I must say that the Pulled Beef Tacos, unfortunately, fell short of expectations. They were somewhat dry and, in my opinion, only rated as passable. On the brighter side, the Chicken Lollipops stole the show, presenting a burst of flavors that made them the star of the meal. The Momo Fried Rice also stood out as a decent and satisfying option.
When it came to the beverages, I noticed that the drinks, especially shots, were on the pricier side. I'm a Long Island Iced Tea enthusiast, but I was somewhat let down when I received a smaller-than-expected serving, which did not live up to the reputation of being a strong cocktail.
In the midst of these considerations, it's worth noting that Purple Chameleon excelled in other aspects. The service was excellent, the music created a vibrant atmosphere, and the overall ambiance was appealing. The presence of an outdoor space for smoking was a cool addition. It might be beneficial if they allowed customers to sit and enjoy their drinks in this outdoor space.
Bon appetite fellows Peace ✌️ Drink responsibly, don’t...

Even though it’s in a mall, you’d expect some good food, yea? Considering the amount spent on the aesthetics, decor and the location itself!!
I went with a friend, and we had one drink each, not complaining about that!
We then ordered pizza , which is usually a safe bet. Firstly they forgot about the order, and we were getting late for a concert happening within the mall premises. When we reminded them, instead of telling us that they forgot, he explained saying there were three kitchens and it got mixed, when in actuality, the order was forgotten. Next we waited 20 more minions for the food, turns out, THE PIZZA BASE WAS ONE OF THOSE YOU PICK UP AT A LOCAL BAKERY FOR 50 ODD BUCKS!!
Come on! You charge 500 bucks plus taxes and you cannot make the dough? It tasted like a bakery pizza too, you know?
Don’t get me wrong, some bakery pizzas are amazing! But that’s not what you expect when you’re paying so much money!
The experience was truly a...
