I was here yesterday(1/11/24) for dinner. I wanted to order a-la-carte but I was offered buffet. I would say it was the wisest choice because of the following reasons: 1. They have a huge selection of veg and non-veg items 2. Live counter (from where I ordered Pani Poori and Dahi Pooro which tasted extremely good) 3. Good selection of salads and desserts As you could see, I had some papads and biryani to start with. I also had some fried rice apart from schezwan noodles & schezwan veg balls. I also ordered pizza and white sauce pasta. All these were served on my table. They had dahi vada apart from Dahi rice which I could not eat as I was feeling full. I ended up the session with Badam Icecream. For ₹2600(inclusive of all taxes and service tax), I paid just ₹1800 since I booked it through Swiggy Dineout which offered me 30% flat discount. Today (2/11/24) , I was here again for breakfast with my family. It was a part of my room perks. It had a wide variety of South/North Indian and English breakfast. We ordered ghee and masala dosa from the live counter apart from having regular/carrot idli, masala vada, mechs vada, Pongal, Khichdi, sambar, 3 varieties of chutney, poori with potato sabzi, stuffed paratha, some muffins and donuts (for my kid), fruit juice and filter coffee. We loved the service of Mr Pratheep this morning who took care of us. Ambiance was good. Restaurant is huge. Loved the taste of each and every dish that were served as they were cooked with perfection with the right blends of masala and condiments. Kudos to chefs for making this.

The restaurant is located inside Hotel Hyatt regency in Chennai. We have eaten buffet lunch and breakfast at the restaurant. As is true at most luxury hotels, the prices of a la carte items make the buffet option attractive. So we chose the buffet. The theme of decor and props are based on traditional madrasi culture. They had stainless steel utensils and kitchen gadgets for decor. The choice of items is wide. They had items from various cuisines. The food was tasty and authentic. The staff are attentive and efficient. They have suggestions from the live stations for the guests to choose. Even the western cuisine items were tastefully made. They also had healthy choices. The guests are spoilt for choice. Choosing what to eat is a difficult job. I liked the cheesy items from the west , the yoghurts with dry fruits and the chocolate desserts.

Dined at spice - Hyatt with family for a Sunday brunch. They were celebrating Father’s day special so had a huge spread of delicious Indian asian continental cuisine. They live dosa/tawa Maggi counter, live grill counter, chaat counter, pizza and special counter also. Even the dessert section was delicious. Must try red snapper, fish in sambal sauce, kattala fish, seafood thermidor, goan prawn, jamaican jerk chicken, Pistachio macaroon, Pineapple upside down, Fresh Fruit Pavola & Almond Daquiose. The attenders were kind enough to arrange high chair for my daughter along with low spicy food for her. Their service was top notch. There was also play area available in the lobby for toddlers near the cafe. They had family photoshoot and pencil sketch artists. Overall one of the best Brunch I’ve had in chennai.

I recently booked table for 4 for Brunch on Christmas Day. They charged me 3716 per person all inclusive. The menu sent by the restaurant manager was huge and attractive.

Starters: Not all starters were served to us. We had to place the order for each starter and they took around 20 to 25 minutes to serve to us. Every time I place an order for the starter they would bring only one dish at a time.

The menu had Mediterranean/Latin, Malaysian and Indian chicken dishes on starters but only one type of chicken dish was served every time I ordered. My parents were vegetarian and they had very very less options. It was not worth paying 3700 per person. They served only paneer on grill station and apart from this only vegetables. The baby corn starter was half cooked. I complained to the manager and server multiple times but still didn't bring any replacement. Mutton kabab served initially was very hard and they did not give any chutney accompanying it. When went and gave the feedback to the chef, I was given the reason that as it was already prepared and kept and hence it is hard. Had to do multiple follows ups for a single cup of mint chutney. All the starters were very dry and none of the chutneys were served along with them. Had to do multiple requests for even Hot water.

Shrimps and red Sniper were available on status but they served only once. Even after multiple reminders they did not serve to me.

Indian Chaat: All Indian Chaat dishes were good in taste. Only issue was with the service again. Half of the dishes ordered didn't reach our table even after multiple reminders. There was no coordination between the servers. Managers were busy having their lunch. Chef were busy with an Instagram Influencer who was trying to make reels.

Chef did come to each table to enquire about the dish but when feedback was given no response.

Main Course: Menu and dishes were lavish but the taste was just below average for both Veg and Non Vegetarian dishes. Ambur Biryani tasted like Tomato rice with no chicken pieces in it. Mutton Biryani was just blanch. Prawn Biryani was just ok to taste. Mutton gravy, Turkey was good.

On vegetarian dishes Jackfruit (Kathal) gravy was available but uncooked from inside, very hard to chew. Below average in taste. Had a Palak dish and that was also half cooked and below average in taste.

All Indian Rotis were served hot on the table on order. Good taste.

It was almost 3pm by the time we finished lunch and I can understand the kitchen closes as they kept informing us. At least the cocktail and mocktail counters should have been open. I did request for any available mocktail at that time and that was also denied. Was given the option to have only Canned Beverages(Sprite).

Icecream counters were all good and tasted good as well. Kheer was watery, Moong Dhall Halwa, Pana...

We booked a buffet for 3 of us on my birthday (23/07/1992) and faced a pathetic situation. We went through a Discrimination from a 2 women who were there on the same time for a buffet dining. My 3 year old kid was eating Papad on our table. In the meantime, one of a Waiter have dropped few papad (2-3) on the ground while carrying it to some table ( I know that because i saw him dropping the papad) - CCTV footage could prove that. The two ladies assumed that my kid have dropped the papad on the ground and called a waitress and started shouting " We came to this place for a good ambience and we pay for the same, These people (Mentioning us) enter into such places and make it like a road side eateries. She also shouted at my wife and child if you know to behave in public place you should not Come to such places. Even after we explained that we did not drop the papad on the floor, They kept on shouting and talking loudly that these beef eaters have a lot of eateries to go but they deliberately enter into such big places and destroy the ambience of such places ( we 3 don't eat beef). She was repeatedly calling the waitress and told to change our table. The poor helpless waitress was requesting us several times to change the table and I refused it stating I can't change the table in the mid of eating ( The two women's table and our table is no way connected, It had a partition). Then I called the manager and informed about the discrimination I was going through. They were apologizing and was helpless. They tried to keep us comfortable, gave 20% discount and gave a complimentary chocolate - They tried all their best. But, they never minded to take any action against the two. In future hyaat should bring a zero tolerance policy against such discriminations. We never mind that our day got ruined completely but the discrimination gave us a lot of pain .

I never had a Good opinion about Periyar EV Ramasamy's ideologies in the past, but after going through such situation I feel like Periyar's harsh deal with the practice of discrimination is absolutely necessary in...

Complaint - spice haat

We visited along with guest for christmas brunch afternoon for buffet . The service was very poor . Even after repeating requesting for better service we did not get proper service . Let us explain in detail the complaint and our dissatisfaction to make a Christmas nightmare .

Four times to different people we were requesting dips and sauces for starters even after waiting for more then 15 minutes no one was even ready or brother to response. Never faced such lethargic behaviour with staffs in a star hotel. Even after repeatedly asking they did not bother to respond. We come to lavish Buffett to enjoy mainly the starters but it was completely ruined by your staffs .

We have to call customer care agent to sort this issue and after 30 minutes we were provided the same which was no use to us after such a long time waiting. If u can’t provide service please don’t encourage to your restuarant and make was wait like dogs to eat food. We come to such a restuarant for provide food and service which why we pay you .

We requested for green tea with two servers both asked us to sit we will provide at your table. We kept waiting and after 15 minutes they said no tea is available. If no tea then how others were getting why not to us .

3 . We requested basic tissues they asked us towels . We know to use towels but when we ask for tissue why can’t u provide us this basic mandatory stuff

4 to get each and every items we need to wait and beg and ask many times or else we won’t get it . We were clueless from 2 to 3.30 pm why such a weird behaviour , usually they encourage us to eat and provide very good service . But once after 3.30 we understand why they demotivated insulted us not to eat . After 3.30 they all sat down and ate all rest of the food available at the buffet . NEVER SEEN LIKE THIS KIND OF TECHNIQUE AND ATTITUDE BY STAFF TO EAT WHAT WE HAVE...
