The Pinnacle — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

This is not a review of the food, which was excellent I must say. However, I’m extremely disappointed with the service experience, particularly regarding the unlawful imposition of a service charge.

There was a small, barely noticeable sign stating that a 7% service charge would be levied, but this was never communicated to us verbally before placing the order, which it absolutely should have been.

When we politely requested for the charge to be removed citing the legal guideline that service charges are entirely voluntary and cannot be enforced the staff flatly refused. They insisted it was mandatory, which is a clear violation of consumer rights as per the guidelines issued by the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA). Forcing customers to pay service charge is considered an unfair trade practice under Indian law.

To make matters worse, they refused to let us speak to the manager, which only added to the lack of accountability.

I’m reaching out to understand what can be done in such a situation. This isn’t just about the amount, it’s about principle and consumer rights being dismissed outright. I hope appropriate action can be taken and...

Pre-Covid I had been there couple of times. Good restaurant with good food. However, 10 of us met on 17/09/2021 at this place for dinner. Miserable experience as below:

Extremely extremely spicy starters by some amateur chef 1) Fish tikka 2) Veg platter 3) Paneer tikka all were made with same masalas so no differentiation in taste. Each dish was served after ages. The breadbasket and curries were just ok.

Finally shocker was so called 'icecream' as one scoop was the portion of one teaspoon and the executive says this is the portion what they serve. The icecream.was like milk shake and when informed they said it's hot hence it melted.

No proper services. It was like were under their mercy since it was packed with guests. Lastly the washroom when you walk to the lift to exit ( stinks) all floor. Good food and good service is all history. Worst...

As friends, we went to catch-up after many years. Being a brand by itself, the Pinnacle - Food was still good. We are shocked to experience the untidy and stingy rest rooms highlighted to clean three times in three hours, were in deaf ears with security, service attendant and the restaurant in-charge. During the covid pandemic and charging a premium service charge by default, untidy rest rooms are totally unacceptable. Taking customers for granted - we will never visit the place...
