We stayed in this hotel on a business trip for 3 nights in room 6022. The initial room given was not ready for occupation so within 5 minutes we were escorted to this room. The bed had great sleep quality. All the furniture were in good shape. Each and every staff member whom we encountered, was courteous and well-groomed. The buffet breakfast served were of great variety and had 2 live counters for veg and non-veg items. The roof top swimming pool was very nice. There was no lower depth option for kids though. The in-room dining food menu was way over priced. However, whatever we ordered were cooked to perfection and left no question over the great quality and outstanding taste though. The in-room bathroom had several issues. The water drainage was an issue. The water vapor was making the whole bathroom floor wet. The exhaust system of the bathroom was not functioning. In some rooms, the wall between bathroom and the bedroom is just made of transparent glass covered with curtain that can be opened from the bedroom side ;) Fortunately in room 6022, the glass was covered with opaque coating. During peak breakfast hours, we had trouble getting a table of 4. We saw a few single or double folks occupying table of 4 or 6. Lastly, there were only 2 elevators serving 9 floors and they work independently. So, everyone presses button for both of them and both make empty stops at multiple floors. It's a really pain to wait for 2-3 minutes just to go up/down a few floors.

A great 5 star hotel with 4 star ratings. I stayed here for 2 nights on a work trip to Chennai. The location of this hotel is apt as it is right at the Center of the city. Shopping malls, market places, cafés, beach etc. are all nearby. And one can easily use public transport to and from this hotel. Let me talk about the service. The staff were courteous, helpful and very welcoming. They tried their best to cater to all my requests. I thank them for their hospitality. I loved the food here too. The six o one restaurant here is a good place to satisfy your tummy. Now what’s need improvement is the infrastructure. I was given a room in the first floor. I did smell sewage from the bathroom outlets and I did see stains in the shower area. Also, the furniture had stains here and there. A renovation and proper maintenance should resolve these issues. Overall, I enjoyed staying here and would recommend this hotel for your stay in Chennai

This place gets lukewarm reviews because many see faded grandeur that fails to live up to its five-star rating. But the truth is that's all integral to its charm -- and its half the price of any other five star in town. The whole place is decked out in old movie posters paying homage to the buildings former life as a movie studio. We loved the rooftop pool. The breakfast and its live stations are an event to behold. And, unlike all the big Western hotel chains, The Park is a genuine historic landmark AND contemporary hub -- evidenced by the graduation parties, birthday bashes and conveyor belt of cricket teams in residence that show how much this place a living breathing part of the city.

This has got to be one of the worst experiences of hospitality and stay I’ve EVER experienced. Let’s start with our arrival-we had called multiple times prior to arrange a hotel car come pick us up on arrival at the airport. They had us send a what’s app message saying to send our flight details, confirming all was good, saying they will have a sign with my name. We land into chennai international airport, no one is there, we are calling the hotel, they keep putting us on hold, no one has any idea what’s going on. So we end up getting a Uber at 4:30Am after waiting an hour annd being bombarded aT the airport by local solicitors and get to the hotel. On arrival, the staff has zero remorse on what we just went through, just shaking their head, we asked to speak to a manager and he had nothing to say, just gave us a better room and said he can give us a “discounted” price for breakfast when breakfast was already included. We get to the room-the suite they upgraded to- there are stains on the sheet, mold in the bathroom, it’s questionable is this is even safe to breathe in. After an 18 hour flight if you think you are getting some sleep, no way, they have 3 clubs and zero sound proofing provisions, our entire room was vibrating to the bass of the music, not to mention ZERO privacy because the balcony’s all connect and there were random people looking into our room, drunk people being sloppy all through the lobby, def nothing luxury or cute about that. Finally we check out, requested a bell hop to assist in bringing our suitcases down, we waited almost 45 mins, no one came-called again, no one had any idea what was going on, so just ended up taking 6 bags down ourselves. Part 2 of check out-we specially requested for the hotel SUV to drop us off, they charge us 2000 and confirmed a hotel suv would be waiting..:then when we get down (once again zero care in the world they had us waiting for 45 mins to our no luggage assistance) - a small Suzuki car pulls up, and they said they had no SUV available when we literally saw 3 sitting in the lot. When we asked why they took our money and accepted the booking, once again blank stare. (Mind you it’s not the language barrier, I speak Tamil! So they were very aware of what I was saying) we canceled the small car ended up booking an SUV Uber for 600 rupees, and got as far away from this alleged establishment as possible. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT BOOK HERE!!! I’ve had others tell me it’s no walk in the park with their customer service, quality and hospitality but after going through what we went through I wish I listened. 5 stars for grimey and the absolute...

I recently had the pleasure of enjoying a breakfast buffet at Lotus Restaurant in The Park Chennai. The experience was nothing short of delightful, thanks to the culinary expertise of Chef Asutosh and Chef Bala.

The breakfast buffet was a feast for the senses. The spread included a wide variety of both continental and traditional Indian breakfast items. From fresh fruits and cereals to fluffy pancakes and crispy dosas, the options were abundant. The quality of the food was excellent, with each dish prepared to perfection. The live cooking stations, where chefs prepared made-to-order omelets and other specialties, added a personalized touch to the experience. The ingredients were fresh, and the flavors were well-balanced, catering to both local and international palates.

A standout from the dessert section was the Mango Thai Sticky Rice. This dish was a harmonious blend of sweet, sticky rice paired with ripe, succulent mango slices. The rice was perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of sweetness and a hint of coconut flavor that elevated the dish. The mangoes were juicy and complemented the rice beautifully, making it a refreshing and satisfying end to the meal.

The cheesecake at Lotus Restaurant was another highlight. It was creamy, rich, and had the perfect balance of sweetness and tanginess. The crust was buttery and provided a delightful crunch that contrasted well with the smooth texture of the filling. Each bite melted in the mouth, leaving a lingering taste of pure indulgence.

The service at Lotus Restaurant was impeccable. The staff were attentive, courteous, and ensured that all our needs were met.

The breakfast buffet at Lotus Restaurant, The Park Chennai, is a must-try. With the combined talents of Chef Asutosh and Chef Bala, the culinary offerings are top-notch, especially the Mango Thai Sticky Rice and the Cheesecake. Whether you are a local or a visitor, this place promises a delightful start to your day with its exceptional food and outstanding service. Highly...

This was one of the worst hotels stays I have had. First of all, this is NOT a 5 star hotel. Maybe it once was but it cannot claim to be one anymore. I don't know of any 5 star hotels that don't have running hot water. I had to call someone from reception when I needed hot water for a bath and someone brought hot water in a bucket with a mug!! There was a musty moldy unpleasant smell throughout the hotel. The first room I got had such a strong smell of mold and the bathrooms smelled of sewage so I asked for a room change. The rooms are super old and in need of an update. Nearly all the pieces of furniture are scuffed, chipped and damaged. My bed linen was stained as was the chair in the room. Cleanliness is not at all a priority at the park. There was dirt and grime on the corners of the room, the windows had not been cleaned in ages and the carpets in the halls were littered with matchsticks and little pieces of trash. There were towels soaking up water on the floor in some places in the hallway. The worst part was that I got very sick from the food after ordering room service in the night. I was up throwing up all night because of it. The chef and staff very apologetic about this later which I appreciate. The breakfast spread was also decent. Everything is super over priced though including the food, the shuttle service(Rs. 2200 for airport v/s Rs.360 on OLA) and the room itself. It is worth less than half that in my opinion. My understanding is that the only reason this place continues to operate is because of its proximity to the US consulate. It is a short walk away and was super convenient. However, the convenience was not worth the hit in comfort of stay and I will never be staying in this hotel again even if I have work at the consulate. Save your money and stay some place else and invest the money...
