Dindigul Thalappakatti Nungambakkam — Restaurant in Zone 9 Teynampet

My first and last visit, it is the worst one. First of all each of the staff, practically all of them thinks that tamil is the only language spoken in the world, so all the dinner MUST speak tamil, because right from the cleaning stuff to the manager on the desk doesn't speak ANY OTHER language other than tamil, so it was very difficult to explain them what we want, then the food came and one of the items in the platter was different then what was in the menu, when i pointed it to the service guy, he tried to prove me wrong, saying that it is the one, then manaer came, i managed to communicate with him in sign language and he admitted its not the same, and that they don't have it!!! We were hungry like anything, so we started eating, almost half way down and a cleaning guy came to clear the next table, the way he was doing it was very untrained and i was anticipating an accident and within 1 minute it happened with us, as he dropped leftover food from next table and water from used glass in the process of carrying all 6 plates, bowls and glasses on my plate while i was still eating.. I was literally speechless, even forgot to express my anger for couple of minutes.. Because we don't expect this from even roadside dhabas, whereas it is an expensive and sophisticated restaurant!! Manager came again with his sign language, and because i wanted to tell him many things but he wouldn't understand anything, so we failed communicate and we left the restaurant half hungry, and fully disappointed! (Biriyani was good though) I don't know how they managed to run the restaurant!!! Not recommended at all, especially when there are a lot of excellent resro in chennai, good food, nice staff and...

Ok. This is not shocking at all. Because if check the recent reviews all are fake. Instead of increasing the quality of service and taste they are doing this idiotic thing just to attract crowd. Just click ‘newest’ filter in reviews and check recent reviews. Those who reviewed this restaurant never reviewed anything. The IDs had been created for only review this place.

When we went inside nobody was there except 2 who were eating in corner. This is a good sign. JUST LEAVE.

After checking the menu I wanted to order Seer fish and Tandoori Chicken. But I enquired the waiter he promised it will be fresh and it came in evening. But as expected it was dated fish with dark patches. So we returned it.

For Tandoori chicken they took 30 minutes. It was bland. So much liquid. Rather than hot and soft it was hard and burnt and you can’t touch it. For a food the first thing is it should make you touch it.

Egg briyani: okayish. But so much of oil. Highly not recommended.

For Kal dosa no chutney served. And even Kal dosa was tasteless.

Due to some poor decision making we end up in Dhaba 1986 restaurant and as we didn’t like the menu we visited this place. Don’t fall for the fake reviews. JUST STAY AWAY. It used to be one of the good brand in earlier days. But what a pathetic fall. Surviving by fake reviews.

How Google let these people have their fake reviews IDK. I’m gonna report the reviews as much as possible.

Last Sunday we placed an online order for 3 biryani at Thalapakatti website attaching delivery from Nungambakkam branch. The site requested the location, delivery/pickup, order details finally name and WhatsApp number. Once placed, the details came in WhatsApp and bill also generated mentioning once get ready we will confirm.

There comes the issue, as time passed more than half an hour, we got a doubt that does we placed in a right site or some fake site. Then for confirmation we tried to contact WhatsApp number, particular delivery store landline / mobile number but all numbers are not in service or not contactable. Also nowhere they mention to contact any number or link for online order support. We have almost decided to visit the store for a take away thought of lost the money ordering in a fake site. We really fed up as time crossed the lunch time, a call came from a unknown number after a 1 hr 15 min time, asking for the place of delivery. Finally, after one and half hour time they delivered the food.

To our wonder this time the boneless mutton piece were not of the usual quality or quantity seems like a name sake, biryani also not much hot.

They need to either provide login or online order status check link else some contact number to confirm the order placed and the place of delivery. Better they can stop online order through their site...
