Read morePerfect ambience for a family dine out. The team has experimented a lot to come up with unique dishes for vegetarians. Here are the items we tried: Lemon coriander soup - Decent taste, will recommend and try again. 4/5 Coconut pumpkin soup - didn't like the nutty flavour, felt like a sweet kurma so would not try again. 2/5 Panneer Korean popcorn - if you like your food on the sweeter side you can go for it. For me it was a bit too tangy. 3/5 Soya cheese kebab (I guess) - would not try again, couldn't find any flavour. It needs some spice. 1/5 Mac and Cheese balls - very much enjoyed by my nephew, it's a must try for kids. 3/5 Hakka Noddles - very subtle, decent and enjoyable. 5/5 Idly and Paya - THE BEST. We polished it. 5/5 Podi Idly - We should have ordered it for starters it was SO good. The gun powder was spicy and lifted the flavour so well. 5/5 Kongu Vellai biriyani - I like my biriyani spicy. So if you prefer something subtle you can go for this. 3/5 Rasmalai - Average taste, rabri could have been thick 3/5
Service: Could have been quicker with the delivery of food ordered, we were given the starters before the soups arrived. The staffs were pretty kind though. 4/5
Ambience - SO RICH and looks like a palace. 5/5
Special mention to the chefs who curated many dishes in Vegetarian because usually they've very minimum option. Will definitely visit again to try some dishes again and also try out the new ones we could not try in the previous visit.
Hope...
Read moreVasantha Bhavan brand is something which has not impress me all this years but lo !!! This Branch of Namma Veetu Vasantha Bhavan in Shanti colony diagonally opposite to SMF Hospital is by far the best Vasantha Bhavan .
This branch would probably be the best looking restaurant in its category. I have been to a few different restaurants all over Chennai, Bangalore, Coimbatore,l Mysore and all over South India and I can assure you that you will never find a better looking restaurant.
It is large, spacious, beautiful and well lit. The decor is excellent. The air conditioning is perfect. The half a dozen windows on the east side are more than 20 feet tall which brings in natural light.
We ordered a Korean cheese bun (my son's order, the rest of the family ordered Idlis, Ghee roast dosa, Masala dosa and washed it down with tea. The Masala Dosa was out standing, the Ghee roast was good and so was the idlies. The chutneys were excellent and so was the sambar.
The only fault I found was in the second round of white chutney was oddly bad in terms of taste and quality. To make a comparative study i again tasted the White Chutney which was served first and the taste was excellent but the one on my plate was terrible. So guys beware when ordering the second round of White Chutneys. They are simply not the same.
The staff and their service were very friendly and fast. No qualms on that area. I must recommend this branch to all my readers and they will not be...
