This is one of the most pocket friendly food destination in this area. They serve good quality food at very reasonable prices. We tried Chicken Fry, Beef fry, BDF, Beef roast, Porotta, Mandhi rice and chicken biriyani. I Must say that they serve one of the best chicken fry in town. It is very well cooked inside in a perfect way. When we look from outside we will feel like it is too deep fry. But when we take a bite of it, we can feel the juiciness inside. It is very juicy, soft and succulent inside and very crunchy from outside also dont forget to ask for podi of chicken fry. The same thing happens in case of BDF as well. It is crunchy outside and juicy inside. It is not too chewy also. Coming on to beef fry it is prepared in a good combination of masala which gives a pure naadan flavor to it. The beef is cooked to the perfection and was very soft. It was able to squeeze without any effort. It goes well with porotta, mandhi rice and all. I didnt feel beef roast that good, it was too normal and there was nothing special. Mandhi rice had a good flavor in it, it was very well cooked and well moist. In the first serve itself they will serve a good qauntity of rice and they have unlimited opition for dine in. Take away also have good quantity of rice. Chicken Biriyani was prepared using small grain rice and chicken. Biriyani comes in a good qauntity of rice and chicken which is good enough to fill the stomach very well. The rice. to meat proportion is good enough. All the rice items served here has an unlimited option. They have three varieties of rice on daily basis of which mandhi rice and biriyani are now common. They have an additional varitey of rice which changes everyday. In addition to this theh serve porotta, chappathi and idiyappam as well. As per them they are using halal cut meat in their dishes. All items in this shop are worth a try, of which Chicken Biriyani, Chicken fry is a must try. It is a good pocket friendly shop which serves good quality food at budget prices with good...
Read moreWhen we went there, their behavior was very bad😠. Their argument is that if you want to eat food🤫. "Uppum Mulakum" is not a big deal 👎🏻as others 🗣️say. We ate the Mandhi rice and ghee rice they gave us. Unlimited rice is only rice. Peace, we have to pay other money. If that is the case, it is better to buy manti with meat pieces from other shops. People named Manthi can only get rice. There is no seat💺 for us to sit and eat. Why not even water to wash hands 🚱. After eating food, go home 🏠 and wash your hands 👏. This shop is located on top of drainage 💩system in Panambilly Nagar. You have to light the mosquito 🦟 wick and sit there. Their behavior is as if we are going to take something that we get for free 🆓. If we look at its expenses 💰, we can look at any other AC restaurants. Food 🍛 is stored in the open. Not even a tarpaulin⛺. Even though it's a Thattukada, there are a few basic things you need. Please provide sufficient water 🚰 for hand washing, arrenjements for sitting....
Read moreFirst experience was very good.
I was visiting this joint first time after staying in Cochin for 5 years.
We can say it's a "thattukada" run by a group of energetic youngsters. Boys were very courteous and was supportive.
Food was very tasty. We had Lebanese rice with Chicken fry. Food was tasty. We didn't ask rice second time even though they told us to come back if anything required. For me and wife, with 2 chicken fry and one plate Lebanese rice costed Rs 210 /- which is economical if you are ok to compromise on the ambience.
They have made seating arrangements with additional stools and benches.
At any point of time, you can see 15 to 20 people having food there. We also saw families coming with children and having food. They also give parcel for drive in customers.
After having food, you can have sulaimani or tea or juice from near by juice center next to this thattukada.
I will give a rating of...
