Keventers in Darjeeling is an outstanding restaurant that provides a memorable dining experience. The warm and welcoming staff provided excellent service from the moment I walked in, eager to assist me with my order. The restaurant's ambiance is cozy, with comfortable seating, tasteful decor, and a magnificent view of Kanchenjunga on one side and the clock tower from the movie "Barfi" on the other. The breakfast menu offers a great selection of items, with the meat platters being the highlight of my visit. The chicken and pork platters were particularly delicious, and even those looking for a lighter meal would be satisfied with options like the bacon burger or salami sandwich. The shakes are also quite good, with a small but interesting range of flavors to choose from. One dish that I would recommend avoiding is the cheese omelette, which is also quite renowned. I found it not up to the mark as I have had better omelettes before. However, when combined with the sausages, it works well. The hot chocolate is a must-try and pairs perfectly with the breakfast menu. Children will love the variety of shakes available, and even those who are not big fans of milkshakes will appreciate the tasty soft serve ice cream. Despite the long waiting queue, the ambiance is a perfect 10/10, and the pocket pinch for four people is reasonable at ₹1200-₹1600 depending on how heavy a breakfast you would like to have. Additionally, the restaurant is conveniently located near many of Darjeeling's popular tourist spots, making it an excellent choice for a quick breakfast before heading out for the day. In summary, Keventers is an outstanding restaurant that offers excellent food, friendly service, and breathtaking views. While the cheese omelette may not be up to everyone's standards, it is still worth trying, especially when paired with the sausages. Do not miss out on the opportunity to enjoy the vivid background scenery of the mountain ranges while savoring every bite of your meal or licking a softy cone. Keventers is a must-visit for anyone traveling to Darjeeling.

This one of the prestigious yet vintage cafeteria of Darjeeling located in the prime spot of Mall Road Chauk Bazaar. The place offers a amazing city view from its terrace which is worth of enjoying while sipping hot chocolate along with some sausages. Multiple renowned personalities like Mr. Satyajit Ray visited Keventers. In his first Feluda story "Feludar Goyendagiri", there was mentioned about the hot chocolate from Keventers. Apart from that various films have shooted in this iconic place like Barfi, Eken Babu, etc. I have tried their specialty dishes mentioned as follows: 1. Pork Platter along with sunny side egg (3/5) The sausages were good although I have tried better versions in Kolkata. Salami was okay, bacon was too bad! Excessive oily and salty. 2. Hot chocolate (4/5) This was yummy, first you need to stir the chocolate that remains at the bottom of the cup ☕ After that it tastes amazing. 3. Darjeeling Black Tea (4/5) provides a pretty good amount. It can be shared by two people easily. But I didn't like the artificial aroma somehow that was coming out of the tea may be liked by others. 4. Strawberry milkshake (4.5/5) this was really tasty with crushed real strawberry pulp. The grainy texture of the strawberry seeds along with subtle sweetness made the milkshake really tasty. 5. Mixed chocolate and vanilla softy (4.5/5) Tastes good just like other softy in any mall at Kolkata. Overall experience (3.5/5) Recommended place to visit in Darjeeling since it's famous for the emotion associated with renowned personalities just like Coffee House in Kolkata. Food taste and quality wise average.

This was again on my bucket list when I knew I was visiting Darjeeling. This place is famous for its special Pork Platter in breakfast. But unfortunately when we came here early at morning, it was already full and we had plans packed up. So we skipped the morning part and returned here in the evening. We ordered the following- 1. Pork Platter(₹380)- This was by far the best platter that I had ever had. It is enough for two people as it had so many things like meat loaf, sausage, salami, 2 fried eggs, meat strips. 2. Chicken platter(₹380)- It also contained 2 fried eggs, sausages, salami and meat loaf. They were so much in number that it would make you full. 3. Hot chocolate- This was really much needed in the weather so chilling and when the temperature was dropping everyday. I ordered this twice it was soo good! 4. Coffee- The coffee wasn’t that good, but it wasn’t that bad either. All you need is something hot in that weather. Coming to the ambience, they have a store in the first floor where you get chocolate, cookies, cakes etc. And also softy, which we tried too where only two flavours and their mixture was available- vanilla and chocolate. They have two outdoor seating one open and in one they have shade beautifully decorated with flowers and pretty flower pots. The indoor seating arrangement was also made such that one side of it can easily visualise kanchenjungha. Coming to their service, it is a bit late as they have less employees as compared to the crowd that they get everyday. Overall it was a really nice experience visiting Kev’s.

One of the most iconic places of Darjeeling that you need to visit if you ever visit here. This is one of the oldest restaurant in Darjeeling and is famous for the large number of breakfast options available here in the names of pork platter and chicken platter. I will recommend to visit this place at around 7.45am in the morning if you want to have breakfast because a lot of people queue up in the morning for having a seat in the balcony. The balcony seat gives you a view of the kanchenjunga as well as the busy marketplace of mall road together and is present at the prime location of Darjeeling. We ordered Chicken Platter, Egg sandwich, coffee and hot chocolate and each and every items were out of the world In taste. The Chicken platter contains salami, meat loaf and sausages along with scrambled egg that tops everything. Also I would recommend that 1 Chicken platter is enough for 2 persons and it costs around ₹420. Also try their coffee and hot chocolate as well which really blown my mind away. Try to go there early or else you have to wait in long queues to get in there. Also cars are not allowed to stand there so make your plan likewise in the morning and also plan when you will catch your car after leaving your hotel. This iconic restaurant has been featured lot of times in many movies and mainly in the Feluda films of Satyajit Ray. Not visiting this place while going to Darjeeling is a big miss that you shouldn't afford. A must go for all travel enthusiasts and food lovers out there. Have a happy meal and enjoy your time in Keventers.

Keventer's is synonymous to Darjeeling, and if you are in Darjeeling, people go there just by this name. This is my first visit to Darjeeling, so Keventer's was obviously on top of my list. Hence I went there just like everyone else. This place has amazing view, with hills in the back drop. In season when the clouds are not there, this is a perfect romantic place to have your non veg platter along with a hot cup of your favourite drink, I am sure. But adding to everyone's surprise, I was totally disappointed with this food place. Normally they are known for their non veg platter, but since we were on our restaurants hoping spree, we ordered bacon sandwich, fried eggs and bacon, hot chocolate and Darjeeling tea. Trust me, the bacon had only salt and fried to the core that you need special teeth muscle to chew it. For eggs we didn't have to add salt atall, since the bacon was salty to the power infinity. Sandwich was okayish. The biggest disappointment was the hot chocolate. In a english breakfast joint like this, one never expects that hot chocolate means adding coco powder to hot milk and serving just like that. It felt exactly like, a little more chocolaty bornvita added to hot milk. I asked the guy to strain it, as I dont like malai on any of the milk. It was totally disappointing. So next time, you go to Darjeeling atleast during monsoon, be careful of your breakfast choice. Your favorite Kev might disappoint you very very badly. P.S. the experience might be different during season, atleast that's what I would like to believe.

Keventer's is a name that has become synonymous with breakfast platters, as far as the locals and tourists are concerned. For someone who has frequented this establishment since childhood, I can vouch for the fact that the ambiance and food (although many may raise questions on it) is what drives people in droves to this place. Whether it lives up to the "hype" or not, that I leave for others to decide. My answer would be in the neutral - neither good nor bad. What is great about the place - the sausages, the ham, the salami (both pork and chicken); and the bacon. They also serve burgers and hot dogs (although, I would say the latter is a big NO for those with health issues because it comes totally fried). Wash down all the oily and fried (but tasty) food with the delicious shakes or a hot steaming cuppa coffee or tea even as you soak in the captivating scenery. What is bad about the place - The quality has gone down drastically and although, improvements have been made, yet, one may find the shakes a bit on the watery side, the buns a wee bit overdone, the quantity to be lacking in consistency, and minor hygiene issues but I always ignore these concerns as this place occupies a special place in my heart. Keventer's also has a counter downstairs where one can always purchase the processed items to savour at home. Do note that the outdoor area is always packed so make sure to reach early. To conclude, a great place to stop by if one if visiting Darjeeling, especially for the first time :)
