Chef Adrian and his team never fails to give the best Indo - Chinese experience.
Tucked in the same building as Haven sampoorna and subway, we had a phenomenal meal at Chef Adrians's Great Wall Chinese restaurant after 4 years and the consistency and the quality in the food has been the same.
We ordered, Crispy fried vegetables which was super crispy as the name suggests and was tossed in a mildly spicy sweet sauce.
Dragon paneer which was excellent, the paneer was super soft and the sauce was sweet, spicy with lots of cashews. Must must try if you love paneer. And it's my standard order from them.
Beef pepper salt which my friends tried and they said it was hands down the best beef they've ever had. They were super surprised to see such tender meat.
Chilli garlic Fried rice we customized it with eggs and the aroma of p Garlic and the hint of spice and flavour was really good. This is definitely a must try.
Chicken noodles which my friends tried and mentioned it was really good for the quantity and taste.
We ordered 2 lemon juices and 1 lemon soda ( Get it with sweet and salt, that's the best option) No big complains but felt the price was a little high for the quantity.
And finally another gem from the place is their caramel custard. It was a melt in the mouth experience and no hit of the egg smell and the caramel just hits on the right spot with right sweetness. Another must try if you visit them.
Overall, the food was amazing, ambience was good and the whole bill came upto 2130.
The portion of food is huge if you are a light eater. We did end up packing a major portion of the noodles.
This one is a hidden gem in Besant nagar and needs more attention and love for the best food...

The food is fresh n meat is juicy and well blended with natural colours, spices and flavours. Their choice n variety makes this place a family restaurant. The ambience is rich and convenient for a great experience. We ordered Mancho soup, pepper stirred mushroom fry, chicken satay and Egg friend rice, and finished with thier signature dessert Caramel Custard. Very pocket friendly and customer friendly restaurant. I was excited to meet the chef Adrian as the Chicken Satay was out of the world and it was so nice of him n his co-promoter Besant Ravi to meet us and also oblige to my request for a picture with them. Very cordial staff and friendly place where we frequent for a good food experience above all. The location is convenient with ample on road parking and lift for differently abled also to access the restaurant in second floor. Best of all is the patronage to the place we got to make as we enjoy the food and service. We have been loving Chinese food in Adyar Luis Waldrof, Panda express in USA and now Great Wall takes over it all. Must visit for those who seek authetic chinese food and good service. Thanks to Chef Adrian n his friend Ravi for bringing this place to please our...
Read moreWhat worked:- the atmosphere, the cleanliness, the service, the property per se. What didnt work:- considering that there are only 2 variations of Chinese food in India one being Chinese Indian and the other Indian Chinese...the former was authentic and had a flavour which was unique as the chef's were essentially Chinese or their descendants. . the other is the corrupted indiansed version which is no where near the former. Frankly seeing the name ,I expected to savour the food of the former. But I was hugely disappointed as it tasted the same as MLC or Cascade not like Waldorf/Rangis/Dynasty. It wasn't that the food was bad it's just that I felt Chef Adrian's could have maintained the old nostalgia of Chinese Indian cuisine which has all but died in Chennai but has maintained its space in Bangalore and Hyderabad with restaurants such as Rice Bowl, Chung Kin, Nanking and Chung Hua still existing... Perhaps a sous chef from Calcuttas China Town will give it that extra zing to the food that could get the mojo back to the Chinese Indian food scene... Chinese lanterns don't make a Chinese restaurant , as much as Charpoys don't make a good dhaba...Guess the chef here is from one of the local restaurants and so can do what he is good at.. .this isn't being critical about the restaurant as much as just expressing my experience on ones expectations of a stand alone Chinese...
