I visited Geetham Veg in Chennai Central for dinner on New Year’s Day. While my experience began with challenges, it ended on a positive note, thanks to the exemplary service by the floor manager, Mr. Veera. The restaurant was bustling with a large crowd, leading to a waiting period of over an hour. The valet service, however, stood out as highly accommodating despite the parking area being full. The token-based waiting system was organized, but after being seated, we faced an additional 20–30-minute delay for our order. I had ordered Kaju Paneer Masala, but to my disappointment, I was served Kadai Paneer instead. Upon realizing the mistake, I requested a replacement. Unfortunately, by the time the correct dish arrived, the rotis had gone cold. The staff reheated the same rotis and served them, which was unacceptable. Additionally, the replaced rotis lacked butter, compounding the issue. It was at this point that Mr. Veera, the floor manager, stepped in and completely turned the situation around. He ensured the rotis were freshly prepared and personally attended to our concerns. I also inquired about the availability of Bisi Bele Bath, which was initially unavailable despite being listed on the menu from 4 p.m. Mr. Veera went out of his way to expedite its preparation, and when it arrived, it was absolutely worth the wait. Despite the initial hiccups, the food was flavorful, with the Bisi Bele Bath being the highlight of the evening. The restaurant’s commitment to resolving issues and delivering an excellent dining experience deserves recognition. I highly recommend Geetham Veg for its delicious food and the exceptional service provided by Mr. Veera. While the wait times and initial service were a drawback, the care and dedication to customer satisfaction ultimately made the experience memorable. Kudos to the team, especially Mr. Veera, for turning a challenging evening into a delightful dining experience!

Restaurant is located in the heart of the city on arterial Anna Salai. Ample parking space for cars and two-wheelers. Open from 6 am to 2 am. This is among the quality vegetarian restaurants on this strech. The menu is exhaustive in terms of South Indian and Tandoori cuisine. They have some experimental dishes. The Jackfruit Dahi Puri is quite an innovation. The Puri is filled with curd and jackfruit pulp and the same is garnished with diced and succulent jackfruit pieces, with a few diced boiled potato pieces for a distinct flavour. It has a mild tangy and subtle sweet taste. Makes for a great snack. Their masala dosa is good as well with the filling comprising well mashed potato masala. A few cashews have been strewn in for good measure but the green peas is a spoiler. The sambar and chutneys served as accompaniments do fair justice to the masala dosa. On a suggestion from the service staff, I tried the Masala Milk instead of Coffee, originally on my mind. The yellowish hot drink is served in a glass cup with a good sprinkling of sliced almonds. It had a slightly good spiced flavour in the beginning but was soon overpowered by the heavy milk flavour. While you could chew on the almond slices, the overall taste would have been good if the mild spicy flavour is infused in the right proportion. The service is a bit slow but it is done with a smile. Hope the quality is maintained in the long run. Often, restaurants that spread their chain wider fail to be consistent in service and quality.

Thankfully, it was not so busy that we had to wait outside. We were shown to our table as we walked in. They were kind and welcomed us with a smile. I have wondered how people in the hospitality industry manage their daily mental health, because, while there may be a variety of issues for them personally and for their families, they (at least most of them) still manage to keep a straight face and have a smile on their faces. Not easy, I guess. Okay, now back to the review..In case you hadn't already guessed, Geetham is a vegetarian restaurant. There is a good mix of vegetarian dishes, both North and South Indian. I usually try Gobi Manchurian in any vegetarian restaurant. I consider it a simple test to evaluate the Chef's expertise. In this case, I give full marks to the Chef. It was an amazing dish, you should try it if you get a chance. I also tried the creamy veg soup. Apart from being a tiny bit salty, I actually enjoyed it. My family tried garlic naan and some paneer dishes. I had a taste of each one of the dishes and they were all superb. Decent car parking space. The ambience in the restaurant was good. The staff were friendly. When I tried to engage the staff with eye contact and small talk, although some were surprised, they reciprocated. In fact, I enjoy the interaction with any hospitality industry people wherever I go. I would love to visit again, hopefully soon. I might try and add some photos to this review soon.

I am regretting to inform you that today on 8/07/2025 an incident occurred today at your party hall’s elevator in Geetham, mount road. Today my mother in law and her sister got stuck in your elevator travelling from 1st floor to ground floor. When all of a sudden the elevator got stuck and there was full black out in the elevator. On pressing the alarm button to their surprise it was not working. My mother in law is 60 and she has claustrophobia and her sister who is 52 and has asthma. To their surprise there was no guard or any person to help them, they had to bang the door for quite some time and heard by their friends who were present in the party hall. When they went for help, your staff told that the generator doesn’t have diesel, so one person has to go and get the diesel for the generator to work. You are such a big brand and your basic amenities are not on point. This could have caused their lives, which is a very serious issue. Your staff did not handle the situation. Her friend who acted on time asked the staff to get the lift keys. To her surprise even the staff was unable to open the door. Her friend took the charge and rescued my mother in law and her sister. Your staff is incompetent and doesn’t understands the seriousness of the situation. You’re a big brand and this doesn’t reflect any good on you. Both my mother in law and her sister have been traumatised. Kindly take action and make sure this is not repeated. As your other customer...
