If you're a fan of South Indian cuisine, you must visit Jannal Kadai in Mylapore at Chennai! This typical small veg restaurant is a hidden gem that serves some of the best authentic and delicious vegetarian food in the city. One of the standout dishes at Jannal Kadai is their Ven Pongal, which is simply amazing. The texture and flavor are spot-on, and it's one of the most satisfying dishes you'll ever taste. The chutneys served with it are also fantastic and complement the Pongal perfectly. Another dish that is definitely worth trying is the Vada, which is very big and filling. It's made with the perfect balance of spices and flavors, and it's a great value for the money. Jannal Kadai's location near the famous Kapaleeshwar temple is also a major plus point. It's easy to visit this restaurant after a visit to the temple and grab a quick and delicious meal. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the service is prompt. Overall, Jannal Kadai is a must-visit restaurant for anyone looking for a great vegetarian meal in Chennai. With its delicious food, affordable prices, and convenient location, it's a fantastic choice for a quick bite or a full meal. Highly recommended!

Mylapore's street food scene is truly a paradise for budget-friendly eats. 🌟 Within just a 500-meter walk, you can find a wide range of snacks, meals, and tiffin options — perfect even for a casual date if you don't have a bike or vehicle. 🚶‍♂️🍴 One of the iconic spots here is the famous blue-window shop right next to the temple, known for its bajjis. Every few minutes, you’ll see people gathering around to grab their favorite snacks! When we visited, we got to try the bread bajji and milaga bajji — the bondas were already sold out! The chutney they served alongside was really tasty and satisfying, especially after we had already filled up on meals and spent some time roaming under the hot sun. ☀️ Definitely worth a visit if you're around Mylapore and looking for simple, tasty street food at a great price. Give it a try! 😋

little lane around the Kapaleeshwar temple is a small blue grilled window on the wall that serves delicious Tiffins . You stand here and eat, a bulky person seats behind window serve the food, ghee pongal, upma, idlis and baji, vadai are soft and satiate you easily. And, there will be a milling crowd on all the evenings. (Rs. 30 for a plate of three)and chilly kadalai chutney was outstanding. We had pongal poori and ghee upma, but the bajji that we had previous day evening was to up to the mark.whats special about this jannal kadai serves home made food at affordable low coast with neat and hygienic and its chennai's very old shop

How much business they do in a day, how many customers they get in a day and how much they earn in a day, God only knows...due to youtubers and instagram influencers, yet still they make customers stand outside their jannal (window) in heavy traffic and severe air and noise pollution...no chairs...no fans...no rent....no expense...nothing.....their bread bajjis and milagai bajjis soaked in smoke from vehicles ...where do you keep all the money you jannal shop owner..., do you even pay your taxes like us ????? There are definitely much better shops who treat customers like they are meant to be treated....yet another over hyped shop in Mylapore..... avoid please

If they don't provide me a simple plastic chair, why I can't provide a Google review? if you go with kids...you will know the difficulty in standing outside the jannal and getting food... anytime a vehicle could hit you it is that bad...

other states la irundu kelambi vandu jannal kadai ku reviews poduranga...andha alavuku wortha ?????

enna periya quality, i had bajjis in both jannal kadai and bajji from one thallu vandi two shops thandi.. opposite to bharathi mess....the thallu vandi shop provides two chutneys, one coconut and one tomato kara chutney and both chutneys were tasty...but jannal kadai provided only one chutney...just normal chutney...nothing extraordinary....all this hype is too too much... compared to what the reality is...hence this review.....the pollution and traffic in that small...

Really nice to have eaten the food items in this shop. Hygienically prepared and cheap & best eatery. You can't have such a simple eatery yet with superb quality menu items. No where for Rs.10, you can't get such a Bonda or Bajji items with side dishes. Also other Idli and Dosa items are available. Very tasty items and side dishes. In fact I have noticed some of the competitors have come and eaten at this place once to find out what is the secret of this preparation and to disrupt the activities. All walks of people especially Hindus come and eat here and enjoy the food items irrespective of their social status. Only people of vested interests, who want to put up their other type of food shops find an opportunity to criticize the food items and try to misguide the people and disrupt the business here in any way they can. We love this shop and...
