Aletheia Back House — Restaurant in Bali

Finally, Sanggingan has a proper espresso machine and talented baristas to operate it. Aletheia is the only place in the Sanggingan/Lungsiakan/Kedewatan that serves up high quality coffee drinks.

And, Aletheia offers more than the usual cafe stuff. Aletheia is my go-to place for some creative inspiration with it’s library of Indonesian art books and unique collection of highly curated artwork.

The coffee is luar biasa (outstanding)—the best in Sanggingan. Their Sexy Dragon bowl rivals that of the renowned Elephant vegetarian restaurant in Camphuan.

The staff is super friendly. There are several spacious tables that make Aletheia perfect for leisure and business gatherings.

The only challenge I have with Aletheia Back House is the price for food and drink. Their prices are not expat or local friendly, but totally worth it when you need to indulge or when you are vacation.

If you like art, amazing coffee and equally amazing food, you should come to Aletheia. This is easily one of the best café latte I ever had, perfect balance between good quality coffee and milk. 5 minutes after leaving I ordered more for delivery 😂 That's not all though. The ambience of this art exhibition makes you want to spend a very long time just exploring the extensive collection of artwork. When the food arrives you will know that you made the right choice to visit this gem in Ubud. High quality food and super tasty with care for details. I love this place. It has the nicest vibe and it is family owned which makes it even more special. Although in Bali and the owners are Balinese, Aletheia means 'Truth' in Greek, named after their daughter! What a beautiful name for a child and a cafe! It is both cafe and art gallery. And truly beautiful to sit in. There is an upstairs on a mezanine floor looking over the cafe and art gallery downstairs. It is an ideal as a laptop work space with fast Wifi, nice music... the list goes on. Definitely worth a visit. Tell them Anna...
