Unfortunately mine and my partner’s experience here can only be described as an absolute train wreck. The fact that this was such a disaster and unbelievably disappointing was a great source of sadness to my partner and I.

There are a number of basic fundamentals that a restaurant needs to have, clearly having a chef and food ingredients are two of them. However, before all that you actually need a menu to choose what to order. Sadly this establishment fail so badly and unforgivably in this department. No menus to speak of.

We were told to use a phone to scan to obtain the menu, utterly ridiculous and infuriating. This was enhanced further when it was evident that the Wi-Fi was poor and despite many attempts and a staff members attempts to get it to work using two different phones of ours, we were still menuless. At this point I was ready to leave and said to my partner let’s go. The staff member then gave her Personal phone to my partner, however whilst charming for my partner I was still menuless. Around ten mins in and still no sight of a menu my frustration levels were reaching new heights. My partner sensing this gave the staff members phone to me however with relentless WhatsApp messages coming through and getting in the way of scrolling, I accidentally clicked into her WhatsApp, pulling me away from the menu, I was then unable to find the menu again, nor was my partner as there were tons of internet tabs open. Staff should not need to provide their personal phone to customers. This was the final straw and we walked out. This was our last night in Bali and it was a bitterly disappointing end to what we had hoped it would be. We were really looking forward to trying your food and were gutted to end up leaving given the positive reviews.

Wild vegan please sort this menu situation out is my advice. At the very least have a menu on the wall if you are wanting to avoid...

I had an absolutely incredible dining experience at Wild Vegan! The moment I stepped in, I felt the warm and welcoming atmosphere. I ordered the Penne Pesto and the Kale Power Blend, both of which were not only delicious but also packed with nutritious ingredients. Each dish comes with a thoughtful description of its health benefits, making it easy to eat with purpose and intention.

For dessert, I indulged in their Blueberry Cheesecake—completely guilt-free as it's made without white sugar—and it was divine! I also tried the Blueberry Pea Tea, which was a refreshing and unique treat.

One of the owners even took the time to talk to us, sharing their inspiring vision for the restaurant. They are committed to making dining a holistic experience, where each meal not only delights the palate but nourishes the body. The idea of a "medicinal restaurant" is truly innovative, and you can tell they care deeply about the quality and thoughtfulness of every item on the menu.

Everything felt fresh, clean, and beautifully presented, right down to the edible flowers on the plates. The focus on local, organic ingredients was also a huge plus. If you're looking for a place where wellness meets flavor, Wild Vegan is a must-visit in Ubud....

The food tastes great- natural flavours! But the portions are very, very small. Even a starter plus a main wouldn‘t fill me with just an average hunger. That makes it quite pricey compared to other places in Ubud (also compared to other „hip places“). But still, taste and quality of the food are really good!

I have been there twice. First experience was great, 5 stars, but we have been the only guests. But the second experience unfortunately not. We weren‘t allowed to choose by ourselves where to be seated, though there were just two other guests. So we ended up close to the street and it was quite loud, instead of sitting in a cosy corner. Since I was still hungry after my main I wanted to order some more, but it took me 15 min to get the attention of the waitress, because they where busy serving a big group 15+ people. She told me it would take very long if I order something else. So I went away still hungry. And that is not a pleasant thing! Also the offered refill of my tea with hot water never showed up.

So all in all- food is great quality, but tiny portions. Service is friendly and professional, but they got overwhelmed when it got busy (and it was not completely full!) and just forgot about us....

A really lovely vegan restaurant just south of Ubud’s main road. The atmosphere is magical, with the standalone doorframe, the candle light, and the beautifully coherent whites, beiges, and browns throughout the restaurant. I had the starter-size kale salad, the collard green wrap, grape kombucha, and chocolate banana cake. I loved everything! The vegan cheese in the salad was delectable, the wrap was super clean and refreshing, and the banana cake was rich and well-balanced. It was a really top notch meal, and the price was fairly low for the quality and creativity of the food. The wait staff was really nice too. I had a great chat with the girl waitress there that felt down-to-earth and real. I absolutely recommend Wild Vegan when you’re in Ubud, whether you’re vegan or not (I’m not!). Update: Revisited Wild Vegan today after two years away from Bali and Ubud. I really enjoyed my meal tonight, which just establishes how consistent this restaurant is. New items I tried were the banana snickers pop, jackfruit wrap, and pumpkin soup. Everything was really tasty and fresh. The jackfruit wrap was super juicy, and the dessert pop was a perfect raw vegan version of a snickers bar. Still love Wild Vegan.

If I could give this restaurant more than 5 stars I would ! Had the best meal of my whole stay in Bali so far and possibly the best vegetarian meal ever, no exaggeration. This restaurant has recently had a change in management and an update to its menu. I have no experience of it before now but I cannot believe that it is not double-booked every night. The setting is lovely. Calm, laid back, no-rush dining. You can eat at a table or sat on cushions, or even in a teepee. But this is not a quirky, try-hard experience, but an authentic, relaxed ethos. The menu is amazing, with every dish jam-packed with delicious goodness and visually intoxicating. We struggled to settle on just one dish so ordered the Trio of Hummus, the Jackfruit Rendang and the Vegan Burger. Already planning when we can fit in another visit before leaving Ubud so we can try other dishes. Plus another glass of the Wild Pineapple Ale which was too delicious. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was intoxicating. Unbelievable value for money too. I left with a full belly and a smile on my face. A must visit for anyone visiting Ubud. 🐥💛
