Please do not buy from this company, they are not the ethical, conscious brand they market to be. My experience has been of complete frustration at the lack of responsibility this company takes to clearly communicate the extra import tax and to take accountability for poorly made jewellery that fell apart in 4 weeks.
I bought $805.61 USD of products, I thought I was spending $800 AUD as the website didn’t convert immediately only at POS. Then I get an email from customs/ DHL saying I owe $277.23 import tax. At no point had AS made it clear the import tax would be so high. I buy lots of things overseas and haven’t experienced this.
I pay the tax and am extremely excited to wear my jewellery as it was a b’day present to myself. Within a month the following items break so I contact AO.
You are held bracelet $64 USD Gentle heart ring $108.00
They refuse to acknowledge any responsibility. I ask to see their warranty and terms and agreement which state they should last a year. I end up going through PayPal for the return of the money and while this is happening another two items break.
Ever Evolving Ring $98 You are seen bracelet. $64
AO disputed my timeline of events if it broke in 4 weeks or 6 weeks with over 30 emails sent to them with photos, the result was they wanted me to send everything back at my own experience with no guarantee they would even refund me the money.
Honestly it was exhausting at a loss of nearly $500 worth of jewellery and the $277.23 import tax, what pieces I do own now have gone into the bottom of the cupboard as I can’t wear it after such a horrible experience.
I’m not alone!! I have had 4 women reach out to me with equally horror stories. It’s just not worth buying for the hassle. I think the brand is a huge marketing hype with no ethical backbone and definitely no...
Read moreWorst shopping experience in Bali. The design is good looking. The quality is alright considering the price. But the service is terrible. The store staff are not knowledgeable about their products and have no idea what they are selling. I asked about the design idea about a ring and its stone, they simply said they don’t know. I had doubts of their professionalism but it didnt worth me rolling my eyes at them then. Thus, I helped myself browse and read the promotion materials on the counter. The store staff seemed really annoyed of me caring so much about the design idea from their faces. At that moment, I gave them an eye rolling emoji in my head. Eventually, I found a moon stone I liked very much and while deciding between a few of them with the same design — because the rings are handmade and the stones are unique, they were so impatient and taking with Balinese. I don’t understand the language but I have emotional intelligence. They just wanted me to pay and leave. 3 stars for the gratitude of handmade product itself. No star to the service and the store. I came to the shop twice during my stay at Bali. First time, the shop is closed randomly. I came back from Canggu early just for shopping at them the second time. But it was very...
Read moreI know you have amazing jewelry—yes, I’m a fan of all the designs, and yes, I’ve purchased. But good products shouldn’t be a cover for bad service!
I didn’t catch the staff member’s name, but a middle-aged staffer was cold and visibly impatient. I purchased a necklace in the evening and politely asked if there was a new one available since it was meant as a gift. She told me it was the last one. Interestingly, the next morning, the store had the exact same design back in stock.
I sincerely hope you can improve staff training. As a sales manager myself, I saw no trace of proper service here. Staff at any store in Ubud with similar price points are far friendlier! I’ve been in Bali for almost a month now, so I know what basic courtesy and good...
