Real praise for this, i can feel the chef's sincerity in his food creation. Rare to come by.
Food is really really good, will be a good move if this setting is held in Singapore, you guys will be able to attract foodies !
Slight suggestion only if you feel required, the spaghetti e fungi con tartuffi that has enoki mushroom in it, I really love it that it give that sudden chewy surprise. But would be good if it is cut into shorter strand instead of the whole mushroom as enoki mushroom is well known for being able to get stuck to our teeth especially with its long strand.
For the cheese burger, the beef is slightly on the tough side. Maybe depending on each customer request, there can be customisation whom some like it slightly well done and some slightly on raw.
Had a try on complimentary tomyum macron, tasted like strawberry, the taste needs to be more daring haha!
Love the creme bulee coffee, interesting experience to taste, side note you may consider doing aburi on the sugar to make it crystallise and form a solid layer before putting on top of the coffee foam as it looks overburnt as showed in the picture. The taste is really good by the way! Has a tint of Vietnam taste in it :)
Staff wise, it maybe a batam thing but they really stick to us too closely the moment we came in. Felt like I was on the watch hahas. Or even before I looked at the menu, they flood with everything before I wanted to start digesting information. Leave us some space ya :)
Oh yes, there was a black with white socks cat outside on our first day of visit having dermatitis on his or her ears. It suits Gazoz theme , may consider to be your second floor security guard haha!
Anyways despite the above comments, the biggest highlight will be your macron as the picture shows. I love the fact that it is not on the sweet side, is it made by the Italian or French way? Just being curious :) I love the ganache and overall ,it's not bombing sweet like how others like TWG do.
Awesome place for hangout 😀 Awesome food Romantic...
Read moreAmbience: Gazoz doesn't shout "look at me"! It is very chic and nice from the outside and "clean" on the inside. Subtle decor lifts the mood slightly: there isn't a theme that sets this cafe apart. Stepping into the cafe, you'd be ready to get your nostrils assaulted with a rich coffee aroma. However there was very little hint that this place served this sort of beverage. Apparently there's an upstairs level but we heard children's screams emanating from beyond the staircase and so decided not to venture. I left it to my imagination that it'd be a replication of the first, so very likely no loss not seeing with my own eyes.
Food: Very well presented. Ingredients no doubt quite good: pulled beef was quite tender and not too chewy. Rather good mix with salad but meat still tasted sweeter than preferred. Chilli crab eggs & toast - dam the locals really take spicy to next level! We're used to the "not-too-spicy" sauces of the famed chilli crab and it was quite a shock to be eating a "tongue-burning", "palatte-assulting", "mouth-bleaching" brunch dish at 10.30am. Eggs nicely scrambled though. Sourdough was nicely toasted and tucked under all the chilli madness but lacked the sourdough taste. So it jus tasted like....toast.
Coffee: Now that's were they win back your confidence, you think. One long black and a flat white confirmed that their coffee is very light-weight: this probably explains the lack of the coffee aroma when we first stepped into the cafe. For those with weaker constitutions, their non-acdic coffees might be a nice choice.
You can check out their full menu if you plan to visit the cafe. Bring along 2-3 friends and go crazy with the "breakfast board" that serves 2-3 pax. Best to have your coffee fix elsewhere before dropping...
Read moreWe went to Gazoz Cafe on a Sunday night at about 5pm for dinner. We looked at the menu and then wanted to order, but sadly, all our first choices were already sold out. i was quite suprised as the place was supposed to close at 10pm and it was barely dinner time yet. The not available items were quite common mains like tenderloin steak, confit salmon and marinara pasta. We settled for what was available. Sirloin steak, and 2 pastas. The steak was quite tough, although it was only medium done. Luckily it was already cut to pieces as there was no way the knife provided could cut through it. Which brings me to the utensils provided. The knife was like suited for softer food like fish, definitely not meat. The forks were quite heavy and tended to flip around so that the pointed tip faced up. It was quite difficult to use it. We ordered coffee and hot chocolate, but there was no spoon provided, even when I asked for a packet of sugar to add to my coffee. How was I expected to stir it? I had to make do and used the knife to stir it. The saving grace was the dessert. It was quite a special one called coconut agogo which was suprisingly not found on the menu, according to the waitress. We found about it from a online review. That was curious. it cost 110krp. Overall the place looked spacious and wad nicely decorated. But come early else there would be not much choices. When I went , there were over 10 staff and only a handful of customers. I would say, this place is good for the ambience and dessert, but perhaps not the best for food. My meal cost...
