How do I even began to review this place? As far as I remembered, since I was little, my dad has been bringing us whole family to eat the porridge and the "pek cam ke". Till this day, we would still frequent this shop every other week. This is a place for a quick and sure delicious hot porridge and chicken rice. Never fail to satisfy our craving, it always taste the same. We are glad when they renovated the shop sometimes ago. Now it is clean and comfortable plus with AC.
Favorite Menu Chicken porridge 5/5 Bubur nya pas, kalau dibawa pulang ga berair, saran kalau take away minta dipisah isiannya. Nasi ayam hainam 5/5 Isiannya banyak, selain ayam rebus ada ayam kecap, acar, telur kecap, tahu kecap, udang sambal (kadang ada pete kadang ga ada). Normally come with hainam rice but if you like white plain rice just ask for it. As the fishball soup is good too. Ayam rebus 5/5 Ayam rebus (normally we order paha) 5/5 Juicy, the chicken meat is stringy but tender, lots of meat, fragrant sesame oil with side like chopped spring onion, fresh ginger, cilantro, sayur asin. Tipe sayur asin yang crunchy dan manis walau namanya sayur asin.
Pro tip: Avoid coming on weekend or holiday tanggalan merah, or after church. It will pack with alot of people and no table, extremely hard to find parking too. Online order is better during peak hour, just remember tip your driver coz they wait quite a long time to...

Last night, we had a cozy dinner with friends at Bubur Ayam Mangga Besar 1, a legendary porridge spot tucked in the heart of Jakarta Pusat. Known for their comforting dishes and variety of Chinese-style toppings, this place truly hit the spot.
We ordered their signature platter of deboned chicken, beautifully served with century eggs, preserved vegetables, tofu skin, fresh ginger, scallions, coriander, as well as chicken liver and gizzards. The chicken was succulent and flavorful, with a light chili oil dressing that tied everything together. Every bite was a celebration of texture and flavor—savory, slightly spicy, and full of umami.
Another highlight was the braised tofu, served in a pool of rich soy-based sauce. The tofu was perfectly cooked—crisp on the outside, soft and tender inside, and bursting with flavor from the broth.
The place is smoke-free, which we truly appreciated, and the staff were attentive and very efficient despite the dinner rush.
📢 Important Note: They don’t accept cash or credit cards (Visa/Master). Payments are QRIS-only, so make sure your e-wallet is ready before visiting.

Read moreI think this is the best porridge in town, the flavor is excellent, and one bowl is enough to make you full. There are three types of porridge you can get, fish, chicken, and plain one. The porridge also served with chopped fried cruller (Youtiao) to add texture. This porridge is best when combined with Chicken Platter (there's steam and roasted), and I prefer the steam one because it has a saltiness that blends so well when combined with porridge. You also can add Century Egg/Salted Egg to add variation. Usually, I also add Coriander to make the flavor fresher.
For the place itself, it's clean and served fast. For the parking maybe a little tricky since the road is a little bit small when many people also go there, but usually, there's a parking clerk to help you out. For the price itself, it's pricey, but it's worth it, in my opinion. The amount of people that coming to this place is proof that this place is worth trying.
NB: You must prepare cash because this place doesn't provide...
