On the ((positive)) side, food taste was quite good, especially the nachos. We also ordered the Christmas Tomahawk platter special. While the meat taste was decent, it's a bit dry. Not a big deal.
Atmosphere inside was also quite pleasant. Temperature waa perfect and the dining room was adequately decorated for Christmas, but not too much. Just enough.
The restaurant offered umbrellas in case it get rains. That's good.
Hehe but on the ((negative)) side, there are quite a few...
To call yourself a steak restaurant, you should at least have sharp knives. Those DULL mini "golok"s that you have on each table make it seem you're amateurish and not really taking care of your utensils and providing the best experience. Could barely be used to cut the tomahawk if pressure and some strength was not applied to cut it.
Please, please get some real and actually functioning grinders for your salt and pepper. The ones that were on our table were not functioning well. The waiter then attempted to replace it with other ones, which took him quite a while and disappeared to the back, because they were not functioning well either. The grinders barely grind and by the time you'd have enough seasoning, your food would already be cold. The general rule of thumb is always check and try to actually use on what you are providing before serving it to the customer.
There is a reason why side dish is called a side dish (different with appetizer). The side dishes we ordered to accompany the steak that we were gonna have came out first and the steak was still taking quite a while. Please plan them better to come out with main dishes so that it would still be warm and not sitting there on its own to get cold.
When the food came, there was no effort in providing any serving utensils, like fork or spoon. Had to actually ask for it. I understand this is not a white table cloth restaurant, but for a fancier type of restaurant like this, I would expect better service and be more attentive. Especially the type of the dishes we ordered were meant to be shared.
This one is my favorite 😊 I ordered juice and it came with a pretty flower garnish on top. Upon finishing the juice and the flower slowly floats to the bottom, a small bug came out. Very natural 🦗 With the many tiny annoyances I've had about through the entire meal, I can no longer complain and just let it be.
Overall, it was a decent but mentally tiring meal, because instead of being able to be serviced well and enjoy your meal, you would have to kind of babysit the service provided and constantly ask for what you need for something that is basic and logical to have in...

Here for the steak.
Service lacks attentiveness, Ordered using QR code and 15 minutes later, I have to call them to confirm the doneness of my steak.
Waiter said, they have started on my order but I can still tell them how I would like my steak to be cook. So I choose medium. Then they asked me what kind of sauce I want. 15 minutes into the order is a bit too long to check on sauce and doneness but I guess all that matter now is the steak.
I ordered Ultimate Platter,
All steak came out LUKEWARM. Chuck came out WELL DONE. Rib Eye came out MEDIUM.
Now I understand, probably when I asked for the doneness they’ve finished cooking the Chuck but not yet the Rib Eye, hence the difference in doneness.
Rib Eye is dry, medium but no moist / drip coming from the beef juice.
Chuck is well done so it’s wrong in the beginning.
Prawn is nothing to write home about.
Brisket is dry.
Red Wine sauce lacked the kick of red wine, if any. I can only taste black pepper as it overpower other stuff they put inside.
I’ve been frequenting Marutama since the old EX day. Fish and Co too.
So I expected GF’s new culinary establishment to provide better steak experience, boy was I wrong.
I guess the only good thing I can praise is the gatsby-an interior and chill atmosphere of the restaurant.
Will I come back here for the food? Certainly no.
For the amount They charged, I’d rather enjoy a hot bowl of Sukiyaki by Isshin many times over (another great GF...
Read moreCame here for a business lunch since the place is the only appropriate restaurant here in Chillax for this occassion and that's probably why it's so packed during our visit.
The place has great atmoshpere along with friendly as well as agile waiters...
The ordered food and beverages are quickly brought to our table and we therefore doesn't have to waited for so long.
As this restaurant specialez in steak in according to its name, we then ordered it. Although there are only three menus for steak available, it taste is outstanding.
I already have a favorite steak restaurant, but this could be my other reference to have a juicy and well prepared steak.
It started with only a lunch, but then we spent almost five hours here to have a chat accompanied by their nice cup a coffee.
The complimentary ice cream is a bit of a show of its own, although I think I have had better Ice Cream elsewhere.
Overall, I highly recommend this place to have a delicious steak in a lavish comfortable place.
