Bushido Japanese Restaurant since 1990 — Restaurant in Jakarta

.. went there for lunch with friends on a weekday in March 2022.. we went on foot and had to cross the Sudirman road via underpass through the MRT station before entering the Grand Sahid Hotel in which Bushido is located on its ground floor..

For its price of IDR 138K (not including VAT yet) their lunch bento is much better than in other common Japanese places I have been. It is more worth for the price.

For my first time here I was recommended the Lunch Set D, which comes with a Cawanmushi (good taste), and Salmon & Chicken Teriyaki Bento. You can choose the dessert to be either vanilla ice cream, coffee, or iced coffee.

I chose the ice cream and loved it. It came with a certain (apple? sauce) and I wish I could add another portion 😅..

I was impressed to see that the Japanese chef still silently and diligently cleaned and made up the tables after some guests left the table after lunch. The waitresses are quite senior you can tell from their appearances, so I believe they work there for quite some time and can advise you well which dish to take. They did explain to me which dish is recommended and I finally chose my friend's recommendation..

We stayed there from 1200ish till almost 1400 hrs, so we learned that the place does close at 1400 hrs and will reopen daily at 1700 hrs for dinner. (This is quite common for other Japanese restaurants, too). Good for us who did not do any reservations that when we arrived the place was still not fully occupied but at 1230 you will find it being quite full with guests.

I can't review how to park here since we went here on foot. This place is nice, I believe I will go here again.

I’ve visited this place around 4–5 times in the past few months. The food has always been enjoyable, and the price point feels reasonable for me. However, the service consistently falls short.

Across those visits, I’ve experienced small but recurring issues like changes in pricing that weren’t clearly communicated, or dishes arriving without basic utensils like chopsticks. If it’s a matter of being too busy, then perhaps it’s time to either add more staff or level up the current team to ensure they can keep up with the demands.

Service quality really need to improved, i called thebrestaurant to booked for lunch on the next day and they informed that no book are allowed for lunch time so only for walk in guest, and came on the next day at 11.30 and no greeting from the staff they just ignored me when i was on the hostest desk, I saw a 2 empty table and ask the waitress table for 8 pax and she said the tables were already reserved and she just left me without any suggestion!!! Will never return to this restaurant again!!! Really...
