Hiyoko — Restaurant in Jakarta

This resto interior is lovely elegant. They have outside seating with bar concept. We are viewing the skyscrapers. They serve Japanese rice bowl package. We tried nanban chicket set and wagyu hamburger a la carte. The taste is delicious. We will come back here again. They serve alcoholic drinks.

Update: we came here again today on 6 march (after 2 weeks from my first review) and we are very dissatisfied with how they handled overbooked situation. We didn’t know it was overbooked. So we saw the outside seating is empty. One side is reserved and the other one is still full of dirty plates. So we engaged in conversation with the waitress there, he said he’ll clean up the table first. Not long after that, another waitress come to tell us they are fully booked. Inside and out. Because my son have a really good experience before, so we asked further when will it available. He cannot answer us so I asked for manager. A lady waitress come and also could not give us an answer. When we asked for manager. They said there is no manager. They seemed very annoyed and disrespectful to us who tried to get more information. Hi HIYOKO, you are doing well for just making us not wanting to come ever again to your place. So people who are planning to eat here please becareful because you may not be able to get a seat at all due to poor management (no manager??? Yeah, maybe...

I ordered Tilapia Teishoku to share with my husband for late brunch, because we will have an early dinner after. We love the miso butter garlic lemon sauce, but we think there is something lack on the way they process the fish. The fish still feels fishy, that it slightly overkilled the miso lemon garlic butter sauce. It was still bearable and taste nice, but it could be better imo.

They have two types of set, which was Teishoku and another one I forgot the name. Teishoku is a complete set with drinks, miso, chawan mushi, and dessert. The other one is the standard type. For me, the Teishoku was pretty great value.

The place was elegant and cozy. We chose to sit on the front area which was calmer to us. The people were friendly and attentive. Service was fast, price was okay.

Ordered the smoked shortplate with garlic butter set and was surprised by how fatty it was; I think there was more fat than meat! It did make for a very tender dish, but as someone who doesn't eat fat it was a bit of a waste. I also thought that by garlic butter it meant the meat was going to be basted with garlic butter, but turns out they just plop some garlic butter on top. The dish was delicious, just very fatty as it's named. The salad that accompanied it was dressed with sesame and tasted fresh.

The miso soup that came in the set was pretty good as well, full of tiny cubed tofu and seaweed. I don't normally like chawanmushi but the one here surprisingly didn't taste very eggy so it was enjoyable.
