If you’re in Central Jakarta and craving delicious, homemade-style Indonesian comfort food, Kantin Kendal on Jl. Kendal 1 is a must-try! I recently ordered Mie Ayam and Bihun Goreng, and both dishes exceeded my expectations.

First, let’s talk about the packaging. The food was packed neatly in a sturdy, eco-friendly box, ensuring it arrived in perfect condition. I love when small details like this are taken into account—it shows that the restaurant cares about its customers’ experience.

Now, the star of the meal—the food itself! The Mie Ayam had the perfect balance of chewy, springy noodles, tender chicken, and a flavorful, savory sauce. Every bite was rich and comforting, just like how mie ayam should be. Sorry, I didn’t take a picture of the mie ayam, but trust me, it was delicious!

The Bihun Goreng was equally impressive. The stir-fried vermicelli was fragrant, well-seasoned, and packed with vegetables and protein. The fried shallots on top added a nice crunch, and the perfectly cooked fried egg was the cherry on top.

Overall, this was a satisfying meal—fresh, flavorful, and prepared with care. The food was delivered quickly via Grab, making it an excellent option for those who need a fast yet delicious meal. I highly recommend checking out Kantin Kendal if you’re in the area!

Went here because of a viral tweet that said the chicken curry was cheap (25k) but really fulfilling – it’s true! Too fulfilling, I’d say, cause if you wanna eat here, definitely go with a really empty stomach. The portion sizes here are bigger than most restaurants with the same price. I also tried their kwetiau, but it’s not something to write home about.

Other than the food itself, this is definitely one of the places to go if you wanna have lunch with colleagues, as there were a lot of work buddies here eating (probably from the offices above). HOWEVER, there were a lot of missing options from the menu, especially the vegetables, like broccoli, kangkung, and indomie (how do you not have indomie???). Jelek servisnya, gak suka banget sama pelayannya, kerja kayak pada gak ikhlas. Masak juga ngasal.

Saya nanya beberapa kali apakah bihun goreng bisa gak pedas sama sekali krn saya sedang jaga makan gak bisa makan pedas, dijawab bisa. Pas datang jelas2 ada cabe rawit merahnya. Lalu saya minta diganti. Ternyata gak dibikinin baru, cuma dibuang cabenya dan ditambah kecap (keliatan lebih gelap bihunnya). Dimakan tetap pedas, saya bisa bedain mana pedas krn ada cabe mana pedas yg cuma dari merica. Karena gak aman untuk lambung saya, akhirnya saya minta makanan dibungkus saja. SOP yang sangat parah dan fatal. Mau ditambahin kecap 1000 miligram pun tetap gak bisa menghilangkan kenyataan bahwa ada sari2 cabe di makanan. Sudah salah gak mau ngeganti, lho, kalah sama tukang nasgor pinggir jalan.

Saya minta pindah duduk di meja bundar karena pengunjung sebelumnya yg duduk di sana sudah bubar. Dijawab pelayan, "Sudah reserved Kak." Padahal pengunjung tadi juga duduk di sana dengan tulisan reserved di mejanya, artinyabtulisan tersebut memang gak pernah diangkat dari meja. Reserved untuk siapa? Sampai waktunya saya pulang karena diusir halus (diantarkan bill), meja tersebut masih tidak ada yg menggunakan. Do you even know what "reserved" means?

Roti Kaya Mentega, gak ada menteganya sama sekali. Roti sama selai srikaya aja udah, itu juga dingin gak hangat.

Pesan air mineral yang datang air di gelas ngambil dr dispenser yang gak jelas merk air mineralnya apa. Apakah merk terpercaya? Kita gak tau juga jangan2 air isi ulang gocengan.

Dulu Kantin Kendal gak gini ya, waktu nama depannya masih Kopi Nusantara something, saya kasih ulasan bagus. Tau2 pas datang lagi kayak gini, kecewa banget sangat meremehkan request pelanggan. Mana tau pelanggan punya keadaan kesehatan tertentu, jadi harusnya ditepati, kalau gak sanggup nepatin ya udah jangan diterima pesanannya.
