I'll be very frank, and as usual, the food comes first. Not the best Chinese style chicken noodle that I've ever tried, but also not the worst.
The noodles were alright, textures and thickness option were nice, taste wise 8.5/10 especially since this is a Chinese style but Halal noodle. Portion was a bit smaller than expected, free condiments was a good touch and extra, cakwe and other additional extra are just so -so.
Place was nice but layout definitely could be better, especially if they're gonna have long queue oftenly. Should consider to separate the waiting area to the front porch, instead of flooding around the eating area.
Parking was horrible. Only 3 spaces for cars with some sporadic spaces for motorcycles, and it was really a tricky one way spot. So, if you plan to drive your car here, pay attention on your timing please.
Service was pretty fast, friendliness was so-so, cause basically you order from the barcode and wait for the food to be served.
It was super packed when I came on the evening. No seat available and the queue was pretty long, I had to wait for around 17 names ahead of me.
My suggestion to speed up the service is; to let people on the nearest queue number to order their food once the previous client on the designated table has settled the bill. So you don't have to wait until you sit on the table to order. It has a thing to do with the ordering system, but it will speed up the whole process a lot in the long run.
So, is it worthy to try? Yeah. Will I come back to eat here? 50-50. The parking problem vs the food is not a balance point for me lol. But yeah,...
Read moreI had eagerly anticipated trying this noodle bar after hearing rave reviews about their noodles, but sadly, my experience fell far short of expectations. Opting for the chili oil noodle with karet noodles and extra spiciness, along with the cashier's recommendation of sweet chicken, I was hopeful for a flavorful meal.
However, the chili oil noodle turned out to be disappointingly bland, with the chili oil lacking any depth of flavor. The noodles, advertised as chewy, were unexpectedly hard, further detracting from the dish. The sweet chicken, while touted as their best seller, overwhelmed the palate with its sweetness, leaving no room for the desired balance of savory notes.
On a brighter note, the thin noodle with pechamkee fared slightly better, with a commendable texture despite lacking in flavor. I found myself constantly reaching for chili sambal and other condiments in an attempt to salvage the dish.
While the fried dumplings were passable, I cannot wholeheartedly recommend them. However, the saving grace was the flavorful broth, especially appealing to those who enjoy a gingery kick.
The restaurant itself is cozy, albeit with limited indoor seating, and parking can be challenging. Overall, my experience here left much to be desired, failing to live up to the hype surrounding its supposedly...
Read moreI recently visited Kedai Mie Tjap 1000 Tahun and found the ambiance to be quite pleasant. However, my experience took a downturn when we arrived at 12:15, only to discover a waiting list with 6 names already ahead of us. After eventually securing a table for our group of 5, I was impressed with their convenient QR-based ordering system, which was located on each table. However, a notable downside was that the system only displayed our individual orders, unlike the more comprehensive setup that allows viewing orders from the same table. While this was manageable, the real issues arose during the wait for our food. Chaos ensued, and to my surprise, the waitress even asked us to repeat our orders. Unfortunately, the food and drinks arrived after an unexpectedly long delay, leading to a room full of people with impatient expressions as they awaited their meals. Despite ordering a roti srikaya and cakwe shortly after requesting our mie, the kitchen seemed to prioritize the mie alone. Consequently, we faced yet another prolonged wait for the roti and cakwe. Taking the overall experience into account, I won't be considering a return visit to Kedai Mie...
