This restaurant features dining with the penguin as the main attraction 🐧 The penguins here are Humboldt penguins species which originated from Southern America, however all of the penguins here is locally bred in Taman Safari Cisarua. Here you can also experience feeding the penguins, which is available twice a day: 12:30 - 13:00 & 18:00-18:30. During weekends, you can feed the penguins with minimum spending of IDR 300K (no minimum charges for dining only). This is such a wonderful experience especially for your little ones as they can watch the penguins swim & play while enjoying their meal.
Some of the menu I've tried here: Spaghetti Vongole: garlic-and-chili-oil-based pasta with basil, cheese & topped with clams. Overall the pasta is cooked quite al dente so the texture is quite firm but nice to chew. The taste is savoury & rich as to suit local palate here, you can taste a little hint of spiciness but I think everyone should be able to enjoy this pasta. Glad to see the generous topping 🍝 Mac and Cheese: contains 3 types of cheese: parmesan, mozzarella & cream cheese which makes this a perfect choice for cheese lovers. In contrary to the 1st pasta, this one is the creamy type which will melt right off your spoon as you dig in. There are broccoli & small pieces of prawn inside, and this is also gluten-free. Poke bowl: a new menu recently introduced here, this Japanese styled food has raw veggies (carrot, leek), chuka wakame, edamame, dried seaweed (nori), rice, salmon roe & main topping with choices of salmon/tuna sashimi (raw) or unagi (cooked). You enjoy it by stirring it altogether & add any sauces you like into it (there are 2 sauces: shoyu & sesame sauce). New York Cheese Cake: thick cheese cake with raspberry sauce, paired with a scoop of strawberry ice cream & sprinkles of nougat, a must-have for cheese lovers. Valrhona Chocolate Cake: dark chocolate cake, also with raspberry sauce, paired with vanilla ice cream & sprinkles of nougat. I love how the bittersweet cake is balanced with sour raspberry sauce & slices of fresh strawberry. Such a...
Read moreReally like it here, clean, and like it's name, penguin is their main show, price is relative if you can value those penguin. Off course this is not a place that aim for people visit and eat in this place weekly. And every place have their own value, price once again relative.
People can give review based own their thought, but read it carefully, suddenly a lot of people can exactly know how the penguin felt lolll... and even allegation that penguin being tortured.
They really know exactly how those penguin felt and know or just seeing penguin in aquarium associated with tortured? So all kind of fish aquarium and animal farm also quilty lol, I really hope those people are vegetarian.
Those penguin are breed by Taman safari, they will not born in the first place if not because of Taman Safari effort. Wild life is freedom but also have challenges from food, predator, natural disaster. Those penguin feed well and protected. Animal have rights, but animal rights and human rights are different, so I will not suddenly bringing human right point of view for animal, that not wise, but again it is a free world, so feel free if you are not agree.
Not every restaurant can have the best servant in the beginning , although it is restaurant responsibility that ensure best services, servant are human too and many servant here, it is not wise either to judge the whole restaurant performance based on 1 servant service. Service I got is very good, fast and polite.
And I do recommend this place, visit and enjoy it, not percect but it is a 4 star...
Read moreIf you come here just for the penguin viewing then it's a good idea (Even though I have to agree that food is overpriced). I ordered the honey glazed beef ribs (see picture) and it costs 250k. It's pretty good but it reminds me of iga bakar that you can easily get for less than 100k. The bisque and princess spaghetti from kids menu are both pretty good too. I won't recommend getting the dori fish & chips (even the tartar sauce is bad). The blueberry lemonade 40k is pretty good. The fruit smoothie comes in pretty small cup.
What's outrageous is how they handle the minimum charge for the penguin feeding. I've heard that it's free all this time with just Instagram post but nope, they said they don't have that promotion anymore. They require 300k minimum purchase for party of 2 AND that includes toddlers who can't possibly go on their own. So my sister and I came with both our toddlers so we were forced to order minimum of 600k or we won't be able to go with our kids. The supervisor is non-apologetic when I complained about the ridiculous policy. So if you want to save some money, wait until your kids can go on their own.
The photo package is no longer 300k and there's no cheaper option with 1 picture only either. Again, my sister and I went to the feeding separately with each of our toddler. So we were asked to pay 700k for our pictures.
Please let me know if it makes any sense at all to spend 1.3juta for this. No wonder there was noone at all when we...
