The specialty here is the famous signature dish Woo Samgyeop (beef) which was invented by Chef Paik Jong Won. The thin slices of Woo Samgyeop will start cooking the moment it hits the grill. There are various ways to enjoy it, one of it is to wrap it with seasoned green onions, garlic & vegetables in it then dip it in Bornga’s special sauce, or place the meat on a couple of leaves and add Ssamjang (processed soybean paste). Eating meat in Ssam (leaf wraps) is a symbolic food culture in Korea, implying that you take good fortune with a wrap. Nonetheless I have my own way to enjoy this delicious meat, which is by simply dipping it into the sauce with no wrapping. This way I can immediately taste the rich flavored meat as it melts in my mouth. Yummm!

Here you’ll get free side dishes (banchan) with min. purchase of 2 servings of meat so I usually combine the beef with pork. My favorite pick for pork is spicy Mansinchang Samgyeopsal (pork belly). The pork is already marinated in spicy sauce so it taste great without any dipping.

My Korean BBQ experience wouldn’t be complete without the soup, mostly I will go for Kimchi Jjigae (spicy stew with well-fermented kimchi, tofu & pork) or Yukgaejang (spicy soup with shredded beef & stem of taros). Need more carbs? Try their Jap Chae, savoury stir-fried glass noodles with beef & vegetables.

I’m happy that they’re generous with the banchan 😁 besides kimchi, my favorite is the pajeon (fried pancakes with kimchi) & salad with sesame dressing. You’ll also enjoy free flow tea here (I love the fragrant brown rice tea they serve here). After meal, you’ll be offered free desserts of fruits & choice of iced coffee or rosella tea. Definitely one of my favorite Korean BBQ place in...

During our family trip to Jakarta, we decided to have dinner at Bornga Neo Soho after an exciting visit to Jakarta Aquarium. The restaurant immediately stood out for its inviting and comfortable ambiance. The staff welcomed us warmly and were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our meal.

Bornga's Korean barbecue was among the best we’ve ever had. The banchan (side dishes) were a highlight, with a variety of flavors and textures that complemented the main dishes perfectly. We ordered the Mansinchang Samgyeopsal (158k) – a deliciously tender and flavorful grilled pork belly marinated in soy sauce. Another favorite was the Yangnyeom Dwaeji Galbi (168k), which featured well-flavored pork ribs marinated in Bornga’s special sauce, giving it a chewy yet succulent texture.

What truly elevated our dining experience was the use of charcoal to grill the meat. This method enriched the flavors and ensured the meat cooked evenly, which we found far superior to gas grilling. The premium prices were justified by the exceptional quality and taste of the food, making it worth every penny.

The cozy setting of Bornga, combined with the excellent food and service, made it a memorable dining experience. We left fully satisfied and eager to return for another meal. If you're looking for a great place to enjoy Korean barbecue with your family in Jakarta, Bornga is a...

If you're looking for an authentic Korean dining experience, this restaurant is a must-visit! The menu offers a wide variety of options, including chicken, beef, and pork, all of which are perfectly prepared. You have the option to grill the meat yourself, adding a fun and interactive element to your meal, or you can have the friendly waitstaff grill it for you.

I tried both the beef and pork, and both were incredibly delicious—tender, juicy, and full of flavor. On top of that, the meal comes with a generous selection of Korean side dishes (banchan). These little dishes are so good that they could easily fill you up on their own! But don’t worry, you’ll want to keep eating because everything is just so tasty.

I also ordered bibimbap, and it didn’t disappoint. The flavors were spot on, and one portion could easily feed 2-3 people. The place itself is clean, cool, and comfortable, making for a pleasant dining atmosphere. The staff was also incredibly helpful and friendly, ensuring we had a great time.

Overall, this restaurant delivers a top-notch Korean food experience, and I’ll definitely be...
