The service wasn't the greatest. The food was so so, except for the meat. The meat was great.
We ordered bibimbab and our waitress said they were out of bean sprouts and spinach, so the bibimbab would only consist of radish for vegetable. We agreed to that, except we asked for a substitute veggie, so they gave us lettuce (which can't really replace bean sprouts and spinach in terms of price). Then the dish finally came in a burnt condition (not just scorched like how bibimbab is supposed to look, but literally black burnt). When we asked the waitress about it, she said we must be mistaken because people always look for this burnt part and that we're lucky to have it this way. Finally, we tried the bibimbab and tasted nothing like a bibimbab. It tasted very tomatoey and not at all did we get a taste of the fermentation in the sauce.
A few minutes later, our salad came out. To my surpise, I saw some spinach on the plate. When I asked the waitress about the availability of the spinach, while she said otherwise when we ordered for bibimbab, she said the spinach is only for those who order for salad & that we must instead feel fortunate that we have spinach on the salad because it was the last salad the kitchen had.
Third case, another waiter came to bring our drink. When we asked him of the type of the drink he's bringing to the table, he sajd he didn't know, because his job was only to deliver food to the table.
Fourth case, our grill was supposed to be changed a few times / in between dishes just like any other grill restaurants. But we had to call the staff repeatedly to change it for us. The delays were quite significant too.
I would like to highlight that all these a permissible for restaurants with lesser prestige. But it's such a disappointment for such high-end restaurant to have such food and service quality. As a reviewer myself, I have never given a bad review at google, I'm not the picky type. As a chef myself, I understand that we have bad days, but such answers to customers are to be avoided for the sake of good service. I gave an extra star just because the meat saved the day. Hope the Grill...
Read moreIt was a pleasant and enjoyable dinner provided here. The grill offers japanese style yakiniku and a variety type of japanese food, and I can say that all the food provided here is superb.
Guests will be served in japanese style private room for 4 people and you can choose to grill the meat in the room or have it cooked in kitchen and served directly to you.
My favorite is to order some meat (harami, rosu, or karubi) and one-two tongue meat (gyutan) then eat it with white rice. You can also order some soup to accompany your meal (e.g. wakame soup)
The atmosphere is good, and this place also serves very high end wagyu meat if anyone is interested to try it.
P.s. sadly i forgot to take...
Read moreI have been to this place since at least around 20 years and quality was always their top of the list together with cozy private room named after the ingredients.
Their meat quality are second to none and there are not many other restaurants around the city that can compete at this level of ingredients.
Both Australian and US wagyu beef are super juicy and slightly marinated charcoal grilled for that extra smokiness taste accompanied with fresh raw garlic and dip sauce/spices.
Also you get 50% off total bill up to Rp.4jt on your birthday...
