JimBARan Lounge — Restaurant in Jakarta

The service is good, but still have spaces for improvement such as hot water for utensil sanitization. Furniture would be good to be sanitized too everytime guest coming in. The outdoor table (for 2) would be great if it can be adjusted to medium size. If 2 persons order 2-3 big set of the menu, we must move to other table because the capacity doesn't allow us to enjoy it on one table. Or, your option is you better manage it earlier or simply choose the indoor space instead.

The pizza is very big and not too salty, so it's good to bring your parents and family for a healthy lunch here. The salad is fresh and juicy. The nachos basket is my favorite. All foods portion is big and satisfying, they look tempting too. The taste is just neutral and normal, but I like it enough.

The ambiance is good enough for family gathering or dating with your loved ones. I myself spent 3 -4 hours with a friend of mine and really enjoyed our moment here. Next week, I'll come back with my family for a small birthday celebration. I came back for the 2nd time, but not really impressive like my 1st one. Your mie goreng is too salty and too much kecap I think.. Your sup buntut is not delicate enough. Also, your kopi dawet portion and ingredient is not make sense, too small, too sour, and no dawet at all with that pricy price. Your fried rice is not really special too, the wagyu beef is not fresh enough (daging asap, rasa mirip kalengan). Also too much kecap and salt I think.

IF I come back again, I won't order expensive menu ever again cause it doesn't worth it. Your fruit plate also too small for local fruits, unless you serve premium fruits or import. The service is quite good though.. I spent 1,6 mio here to celebrate a bday , I guess I had overexpectation on it especially the taste of certain menus.. that's why I changed 5 to 4 stars in this review. 3 might be too cruel I guess.. you really need a good chef to improve some expensive foods in the menu. Or else all guests would only come to drink and chill.. and taking pics lol there is no more foods or main...

I had a mixed feeling and weird experience when having dinner with family here. We had tenderloin steak, mushroom soup, truffle pizza, garden salad, bucatini carbonara, and peri-peri chicken. Everything except the chicken was great. The roasted peri peri chicken came last and not cooked properly (it was mostly still red), my husband showed it to one of the waiters and asked for it to be recooked (we did not ask for the new one).

However, around 10-15 mins later, another waitress came and told my husband that they were roasting an entirely new chicken “because you asked it to be cooked ‘til well done” (the exact phrase was : Karena kan Bapak minta yang matang) and it might take longer. I was half furious and half puzzled because 1) it was not our fault that we want it to be properly cooked and 2) where in the world would I want to eat half-cooked chicken??? AFAIK chicken is supposed to be cooked well done unless you want salmonella poisoning. I thought it should be a default choice.

Anyway, we were already full and it was already quite late, hence we decided to take-away the chicken. Another waitress came with the newly cooked chicken and let us inspect the doneness of the chicken - it was cooked properly. We were satisfied and thankful for Jimbaran Lounge’s quick response on handling our complaints.
