We had a family dinner here. Honestly, the place doesn’t fully deserve the high rating it has on Google. I’d rate it more around 4.3–4.4.
Food: Decent, but closer to average than good. Nothing really stood out. Service: Friendly and smiley — the waiter who served us was actually very good. Drinks/Cocktails: Okay, more like standard bar drinks than anything special. Cleanliness: The restaurant is generally neat. Toilets were moderately clean — not terrible, but could be improved.
We visited after having a very positive experience at the same restaurant in Ubud, but unfortunately this location felt like a weaker version. The food was overall average, and nothing surprised us in a positive way.
I started with a tuna salad and had a steak for my main. Both dishes were fine, but nothing memorable. The steak itself was inexpensive but good, although the sides on the plate weren’t impressive. My wife had a Thai-style soup, which she thought was rather good, followed by a tuna steak, which she also enjoyed. Our son went for brisket — he really liked it, and that was probably the best-rated dish of the evening. Our daughter stayed consistent and ordered a hamburger, which she found quite good.
Drinks were better than the food. We started with two strawberry daiquiris, which were very enjoyable. Unfortunately, when we tried to order more, they had already run out of ingredients. Still, cocktails seem to be one of the stronger points here.
Service was pleasant overall. We didn’t have a reservation and had to wait a bit for a table, but eventually we were given a large, comfortable table in the back. Service was quick and polite, and our waiter spoke good English, gave advice, and even had a sense of humor, which made the experience nicer.
The restaurant also offers live music — on our visit there was a guitarist singing, which created a pleasant atmosphere that everyone seemed to enjoy.
One thing worth noting is that the menu claims there’s an 18% service charge, but in reality only 8% was added — the same situation we experienced at their first location.
Overall: A decent place with friendly service, good drinks, and nice ambiance, but the food falls short compared to their other location. Price-wise, worse value for money than Udud location, simply worse food,...
Read moreTropical Restaurant in Nusa Dua is an absolute gem! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a vibrant, inviting atmosphere that immediately set the tone for an exceptional dining experience. The setting is beautiful, with a relaxed yet stylish tropical vibe, perfect for unwinding after a day at the beach.
Now, let’s talk about the food—simply outstanding! We ordered pizza, and I can confidently say it was the best we’ve ever had. The dough was freshly made, light, and perfectly crisp on the outside while remaining soft and airy on the inside. Every bite was bursting with flavor, thanks to the high-quality, fresh ingredients. Whether you’re a pizza lover or just looking for a great meal, this is a must-try!
The cocktails were equally impressive—expertly mixed, refreshing, and beautifully presented. Each drink was crafted with precision, balancing flavors to perfection. Whether you’re in the mood for a classic mojito, a tropical punch, or something more unique, you won’t be disappointed.
Beyond the food and drinks, the overall atmosphere was fantastic. The restaurant has a lively yet relaxed energy, with great music and a welcoming ambiance that makes you want to stay for hours. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed without being intrusive.
If you’re in Nusa Dua and looking for an incredible dining experience, look no further than Tropical Restaurant. Amazing food, outstanding drinks, and a fantastic setting—it truly has it all! We’ll definitely be coming back on our next visit. Highly...
Read moreFood was very good, ordered quite a few things and have to say my favourite was the kung pao chicken. Pizza was good as they use a stone baked oven and prawns were tasty. Service was really bad and I was very disappointed, especially as the food was really good. Firstly we were told there was no space for us by a waitress but then we asked a waiter a couple of minutes later and he provided us a table, very unsure about why we were told the restaurant was full but I don’t want to speculate. Despite us ordering around 8/9 dishes as a family of 6, the waiters didn’t seem to keen to make space on our table by taking empty plates or bottles, they seemed to hand us the food and let us deal with shifting things which was not ideal. There was a dog walking around the restaurant, we asked the waiter to remove it due to allergies but he lied and said it belonged to a family on the corner, we know he was lying because the family were not bothered with the dog and we saw the same dog outside wondering the streets as we left. The waiter also brought us over a chicken pizza which we did not order, he read the order back to us twice so not sure how that happened. The food is reasonably priced apart from the lamb chops, disappointed that chicken spring rolls weren’t available as they sounded nice. Overall, a nice looking restaurant but with very...
