My friend and I were searching for another restaurant but decided to eat here instead.
It sits on the ground floor (it seems they used to be on the rooftop of the same building), right next to the sea. It may be a bit difficult to find as it's tucked away in one corner of Discovery Mall. It doesn't have as many tables as one might have expected, but that also makes it very spacious. It suited us just well, being able to have a relaxing afternoon without many other customers around.
It was raining hard when we visited, so we could see the waves rushing in to shore and beating ferociously on the stone breakwaters just below the basketball outside the restaurant, accompanied by the howling of the major winds. What an ambience!
We had the Grilled Package (which comes with kang-kung, which we couldn't finish as the portion was quite big, and crackers as sides) from their Ocean to Table group of seafood dishes and Gindara Nyangluh, a Balinese codfish soup. I would say the Gindara Nyangluh might take a bit of getting used to, but we should always embrace trying local food. Specific to this bowl we had, I thought the codfish was perhaps overcooked and thus tough.
The Grilled Package contains the usual suspects—prawns, squids, mussels. They were succulent and flavoursome, especially when eaten with the special chilli.
For dessert, my friend had Banana Caramel. He had a big thumbs up for it.
We were glad we came...
Read moreour group of 7 ate around 7pm. there is hardly any view past dark, and it was super windy outside (to the extent the food could have been blown into our faces, and the staff had difficulty bringing our drinks out) so we moved inside the restaurant. service is good and staff friendly. restaurant was not crowded when we visited at dinner time.
ordered 2x seafood grilled platters, mi goreng, drinks. prawns did not taste fresh. mi goreng was abit too salty by the 3rd mouthful. kang kong was ok.
would recommend against ordering the tempura ice cream which was a huge disappointment for our group. would give the food an overall 3 stars for being edible, but would be easily able to find better...
Read moreWalking around the markets then all the way up to the discovery mall we found this place and decided to eat. Me and my wife decided to sit at the tables that are in the small 'pools' where you can dip your feet while you have something to eat, best decision ever! The pool was so nice and cool and under a beach umbrella. We Ordered a burger with fries. The food took a bit to be cooked but we occupied our time in the pool with some nice cocktails. Serene seating overlooking the sea makes up for a beautiful and romantic setting. The a la Greek ie white furniture added to the setup, but be wary of the rains as they have minimal...
