Sattvik By Nature: A Mixed Experience in Kuta, Indonesia
If you're looking for a vegetarian restaurant in Kuta, Bali, you may come across Sattvik By Nature. This restaurant claims to serve pure vegetarian food that's free from onion and garlic, and made with organic and locally sourced ingredients. While this may sound promising to some, our experience at Sattvik By Nature was a mixed one.
We arrived at Sattvik By Nature after a long flight and were hungry for some good vegetarian food. The restaurant is located in a quiet alleyway in Kuta, and we were greeted by a friendly staff member. We were seated at a table and handed the menu, which had a variety of dishes ranging from Indian chaat to Indian dishes .
As we were feeling a little adventurous, we decided to try the Save Puri and Bhel Puri. Save Puri is a popular Maharashtrian dish that's made with poori and Save, while Bhel Puri is a popular street food snack from Mumbai that's made with puffed rice and vegetables. However, what we received was not quite what we were expecting.
The Bhel Puri was warm, which was surprising as it's usually served cold. Additionally, there were no tomatoes or onions in the dish, which is a key ingredient in traditional Bhel Puri. The dish was sour and lacked the usual tanginess that comes from tamarind chutney. Similarly, the Save Puri had no presence of Save in it. We were disappointed as we had high expectations for these dishes.
Moreover, the price of the dishes was high considering the quality of the food that was delivered. We felt that the dishes were overpriced for the amount and quality of ingredients used.
Despite these shortcomings, the restaurant had a pleasant ambiance, and the staff was courteous and helpful. The restaurant also had a wide variety of vegetarian dishes to choose from.
Overall, our experience at Sattvik By Nature was okay. While the food did not meet our expectations, the service was good, and the restaurant had a pleasant atmosphere. If you're looking for a vegetarian restaurant in Kuta, Bali, and want to try something new, Sattvik By Nature might be worth a visit. However, we recommend keeping your...
Read moreWhilst staying in Kuta, my wife and I have been trying various restaurants which cater for vegetarian as well as have gluten free options. We had already been to 2 different Indian restaurants prior to this so decided to try this... What a mistake we made!
The service was exceptionally slow and that is no exaggeration! We waited over 10 minutes for our drinks (2 cokes) and around 30 minutes for our starters which I've never had to wait that long in an Indian restaurant for. I was expecting really good food after this wait and when it arrived, though hot in temperature, it was severely lacking in any spice whatsoever. As British Indians having a bit of spice is fine, though this had zero! I don't know how other reviews have rated the food so highly!
The green chutney that accompanied the starters was not the correct chutney to complement the food, and when we asked if they had any chili sauce or a similar chutney, we waited for 10 minutes only to ask another waitress who said they didn't! What a waste of time that was!
When the mains came, they were marginally better with a bit more taste, but nowhere near the quality expected for the price they charge. We ate in Ganesha up the road on day 1 and that was far superior in food, service and price.
I will always give a fair assessment in all my reviews and always want to give the benefit of doubt where possible, however, this restaurant failed on so many levels I simply couldn't ignore writing an honest review.
If you don't mind genuinely bland food then this place may be acceptable, but be prepared and don't say you...
Read moreAbsolutely awful food since they have moved to new location in kuta. The quality of the food is way below standard, and would not be going there again! Being a pure vegetarian, this use to be our regular everytime we came to bali but not anymore! The kuta restaurant is disgusting and dirty inside considering it is a new location they have moved too!! The toilets disgusting, the wash station where you wash your hands the tap is broken! We were served with two dirty plates which were changed over and then we saw the staff put the two dirty plates back in the cupboard with the other clean plates which shows the have no standards whatsoever! The owner wasn’t even engaging at the old location, and at the new location he was nowhere to be seen for us to even make a complaint. We told the staff that we would not be coming back to the restaurant to eat ever again as the food is well below standard and the restaurant atmosphere is dirty!! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PURE VEG RESTAURANT TO ANYONE AS THERE ARE MUCH BETTER PLACES TO EAT THAN THIS...
