Came here as our last meal in Bali for our honeymoon trip and was very disappointed with the manager here.
Ordered the Massaman Curry which is described as a “chuck waygu” dish but when we got it, only had 2 or 3 thin pieces of beef (see the picture - the beef on the top is the only pieces). No issues, we asked the manager to add some more beef as there was barely any and insultingly, he asked me if I had eaten any of it. He proceeds to take it back to the kitchen, then comes back out and says that it is meant to be like that and the beef is just meant to be like a topping…for a BEEF CURRY…I don’t like to argue about these things so I left it.
Later at the end of the night, I pay the bill and the waiter gives us 2 coupons for drinks(I think because we ordered main dishes or something) that we politely asked if we could use today as we were leaving the next day on our flight home. She wasn’t sure if we could so again we politely ask the manager who looks me in the eyes, smiles and says sure we can and then says only at the other locations and not at the one we were at. Apparently the owner has other locations….which I can’t seem to find. At this point I’m fed up with the poor service from this manager not because we can’t use the voucher for 2 drinks(honestly not a big deal at all) but because he is lying to our face. As we were leaving we asked the waitress and she said the vouchers are to get drinks at their location. Of course, at this point the manager comes over smiling with nothing to say.
Normally wouldn’t spend the time to put a review(especially during a honeymoon trip) but this weirdly bad experience with this manager has motivated us enough to spend the time to do this.
Ate out everyday during our trip and out of 30 places, this was the only place I would...
Read morePLEASE DO NOT EAT HERE. I’ve walked past this place a few times and was looking forward to trying it. Sadly, it ended up being the worst dining experience I’ve had during my entire trip and after travelling the world. To start with the food: the gyoza was decent probably the only thing that was okay. We ordered the Massaman Curry, and it came with two tiny pieces of beef (not an exaggeration) When we politely asked the staff if there had been a mistake, the manager told us it was “meant to be that way” and claimed it was a dipping curry — definitely not how it was presented on the menu and not what beef curries are. It felt like false advertising, and the explanation was incredibly dismissive. But the worst part was the manager himself. Not only was he unhelpful in resolving the issue, but he also blatantly lied to us. We were given two vouchers for drinks and asked if we could use them that night (as we were leaving Bali the next day). He told us they were only valid at "another location" even though there is no other location. When the waitress also told us to come back tomorrow so we can use it. To confirm this, on the way out, I asked one of the staff, who confirmed the vouchers were for this location. As soon as the manager saw me speaking to her, he rushed over probably to stop her from telling the truth. It was incredibly shady and unprofessional. This is the only negative review I’ve ever written I usually only take the time to praise great places. But this experience was so bad, I felt I needed to warn others. Every other restaurant we’ve eaten at in Bali has been amazing incredible food and even better service. Please do not waste your time or money here. I’ve already warned friends who are either in Bali now or planning trips soon. You...

Each bite was a testament to the chef's creativity and skill, marrying traditional flavors with a modern twist. The Crispy Rice Sushi, with its perfect texture and depth of flavor, was a culinary delight, while the "Fist of Unicorn" offered a vibrant, plant-based alternative that didn't compromise on taste or presentation.
The ambiance of Chow Chow Bali added to the dining experience, with its beautiful and authentic decor that transports you straight to the heart of Asia. The attention to detail in the restaurant's design complements the thoughtfulness of the menu, creating a truly immersive experience.
