This has been on the top of my list when visiting Yogya, finally it checked out my expectations.
I've honestly been curious about an "authentic" Italian place and I feel like they keep the authenticity while catering to Indonesian taste buds (might be wrong though).
The cannelloni ai spinaci was oomph—so creamy and just hitting the right places. I'm not a fan of creaminess yet I went for the spinach and it. did. not. disappoint. I could've licked the plate and brought back yearning.
The body purification was a herbal drink that I didn't know I needed before that day. Ordered for the fun of it, stayed for the lime. The lime—a burst of lightweight freshness—was a really nice touch.
The lasagne classica was oomph too. It was too heavy for brunch but! do no fret because the slight crispiness on the edge was able to revive that heaviness. The freshness of the tomato paste still haunts me to this day—in a good way of course.
One that is slightly a bit of an okay was the pizza. I asked for a recommendation, and they told us to get Bianca. Since I like thin dough, we ordered that. Hmm aside from the good shiitake mushroom, we could've ordered something else. It was nice, but it couldn't live up to its name. I could be wrong dough.
Now, service. Prior to this, we didn't know that servers were supposed to be like that. "They care a lot about presentations," my friend said, and oh—about the customers too. We were greeted from the moment we arrived (mind you, we were like one of the first customers who came in the morning) and unbeknownst to us, it continued until the end. Truly live up to its name.
Overall, an excellent experience. With the tax, it came around...
Read morePositive points, service is good and ambiance is very nice. I ordered Margarita pizza it was OK. I also ordered Rasberry Lassi which was sour. The yougert had turned sour. Also, though they say juice and beverages are fresh. They most certainly are NOT. They are using frozen fruit and calling it fresh. Hello, since when is fresh and frozen the same? I know you are too clever but such things are lies to make more profit! Not very ethical! They did replace it with a fresh yougert one which was OK. The food overall is OK, definitely over priced! No option to order bread with Olive Oil. It's so basic and makes for good starter. Instead they will sell you four small pieces of bread with garlic butter. I also ordered mineral water which was served in a craft. That's cheap! Come on I want bottle water. Please spare me how you are saving the planet by not using plastic. It's about cheating customer to make profit. I don't think I would return. Finally irritating Latin hip-hop music does not mix with the nice relaxing garden setting. Think about it, you want to create a nice ambiance why select bad music? Music was giving me a headache. I wanted to order dessert but I decided to leave due to the music! Italian restaurant with annoying Latin hip-hop. I would have enjoyed some jazz or instrumental like Kenny G.,something that does not...
Read moreYum! A well-known Italian restaurant in Yogyakarta with garden settings. This would suit families. Some things were great, some were ok. Service: Waiters are very friendly. Serving time was within their promised prep time. Food: Cannelloni al Tonno: it was alright. Every element was done well but not enough to make me think of repeating order. The burnt sauce is a nice addition. Tortellini al Spinaci w/ Formaggi sauce: I like this sauce better than the creamy sauce on the previous dish. The sauce had some complex flavor (as someone who hasn't tried Italian dish much yet) but it was very enjoyable to eat. Casa Linga Pizza: The combination of the toppings pairs well. Loads of black olives here. I think the meat didn't stand out. Maybe because it was cut so thinly that I didn't taste much of it. Loved the dough and the thick crust as well. Blueberry juice: Very watered down. Probably to be expected considering the price and rarity. Infuso Mielle: tastes very strongly of honey. I mean very. Mineral water: I like that the price is reasonable and even for 500ml the waiter asked if we needed two glasses. The water jug...
